Is the 2021 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Nissan Frontier earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth and quiet ride, good value, and decent towing capability, and many also like its handling and usefulness for outdoor activities. Is the 2021 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck people can count on for everyday use, with repeated praise for its dependable feel, good value, and trouble-free ownership experience. That said, some drivers mention transmission behavior, so you should pay close attention to how the truck drives and shifts during a test drive. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is ending up with a poorly maintained example, so condition and service history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Nissan Frontier?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm there are no accident or title issues before you go any further. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of the transmission behavior, since owner feedback points to shifting concerns. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition, especially if you plan to use the truck for towing, commuting, or outdoor driving.

What is the 2021 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $22,494 sits slightly below last year's $23,167.

That softer pricing suggests the truck has become a bit easier to buy, which can also mean future resale gains may be more gradual than dramatic. If you buy well now and keep the truck in strong condition, you should be in a better position when it comes time to sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.91% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $21,322, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $22,494 average.
• It offers a simpler, rugged pickup with off-road capability.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $26,774, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $22,494 average.
• It brings a redesigned cabin with more modern comfort and technology.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the best all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of price, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If your budget is tighter, the 2020 is the value play, while the 2022 makes sense if you want the newer redesign and can spend more.
