Used 2021 Honda Passport for Sale nearAlbuquerque, NM

How much does the 2021 Honda Passport cost?

Prices have softened 5.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,010 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Honda Passport a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Honda Passport earns a 4.8/5 user rating and an 8.0/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, smooth handling, cargo space, and audio quality. The Passport’s active, two-row SUV layout also fits buyers who want something more adventurous than a typical family crossover while still being easy to live with every day.

The main trade-offs are its irritating transmission and uncomfortable seats, and the infotainment system’s dated controls can be frustrating. Even so, the Passport’s blend of comfort and capability makes it a strong fit if you want a practical SUV with a more rugged personality.

With 37.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Honda Passport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as comfortable, smooth, and dependable, with recurring praise for its spaciousness and cargo usefulness. The expert evaluation also points to a comfortable ride and a refined driving feel, which supports the sense that it should be easy to live with over time.

Honda also notes that the Passport offers many of the Pilot’s advantages, including comfort and reliability, while adding more standard content. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about living with the transmission behavior and cabin comfort compromises.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Passport?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a vehicle history report on any candidate, even if it looks clean on the lot. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the transmission behavior, seat comfort, and infotainment operation, since those are the areas most likely to affect day-to-day satisfaction. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and equipment level, because the trim you choose changes the ownership experience quite a bit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport starts with 20-inch alloy wheels, LED fog lights, push-button start, tri-zone climate control, a seven-speaker audio system, and a one-touch fold-down rear bench. The EX-L adds leather upholstery, a power moonroof, a power rear liftgate, walk-away auto-locking, reverse-tilting side mirrors, one-touch power windows, and power-adjustable front seats. The Touring adds front-and-rear parking sensors, a hands-free liftgate, a 115-volt outlet, an upgraded 10-speaker stereo, satellite-linked navigation, and a WiFi hotspot. The Elite adds heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and wireless device charging.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. You get standard front-wheel drive or optional all-wheel drive, and the V6 is described as strong while the transmission manages power well.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control that can stop and go with traffic. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front-and-rear parking sensors are available, and those parking sensors are standard on the Touring.
• Infotainment: The Passport uses an 8-inch touchscreen, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard. Honda does not mention wireless smartphone integration or over-the-air updates here.
• Fuel efficiency: The FWD model returns 20 mpg city, 25 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined. With AWD, it returns 19 mpg city, 24 mpg highway, and 21 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Honda Passport trim should I buy?

The 2021 Honda Passport is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, Touring, and Elite.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the value play if you want the Passport’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. You still get the V6, the 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and a solid standard safety suite, but you give up the comfort and convenience upgrades found higher up.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds leather upholstery, a power moonroof, a power rear liftgate, and more power-adjustable seating without jumping all the way to the pricier Touring. If you want the sweet spot between price and everyday comfort, this is the one to focus on.
• Touring: Choose this if you want more convenience and tech, including parking sensors, a hands-free liftgate, navigation, a WiFi hotspot, and a stronger stereo. It makes sense if you plan to spend a lot of time in the Passport and want a more premium feel.
• Elite: This is the top choice if you want the most comfort-focused Passport, with heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rain-sensing wipers, and wireless charging. It suits buyers who want the fullest feature set and are willing to pay for it.

Safety-wise, the Passport’s driver-assistance features are strong, but blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors are not standard on every trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda Passport?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,010 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.41% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,975, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Honda Passport's resale value?

The current average of $24,411 sits slightly below last year's $25,807.

That softer pricing suggests the Passport has become more approachable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market. If prices stay near this level, resale value should remain steady rather than strong, especially for higher-mileage examples or lower-trim vehicles.

Well-equipped trims with strong condition and clean history should hold buyer interest better than stripped-down or heavily worn examples. The Passport’s broad appeal as a comfortable, practical SUV helps support demand over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Honda Passport safe?

The 2021 Honda Passport earns an overall rating of five out of five stars from NHTSA, and the IIHS gave it top "Good" scores in most crash tests, with an "Acceptable" rating in the passenger-side small overlap front crash test.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front-and-rear parking sensors are available, with the parking sensors standard on the Touring trim.

The main caveats are the IIHS’s Acceptable result in the passenger-side small overlap front crash test, plus Acceptable ratings for headlights and child-seat anchor ease of use. Those don’t make the Passport unsafe, but they are worth noting if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda Passport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.2% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds more standard features while keeping the familiar, comfortable two-row Passport formula.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $22,412, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $24,411 average.
• It emphasizes rugged capability and thoughtful interior functionality.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $29,298, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $24,411 average.
• It adds a light restyle, a TrailSport trim, and new safety features.

The bottom line: The 2021 is the best all-around pick if you want the Passport’s established formula with a healthy used-car market and strong owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money, the 2020 is the better value path; if you want newer styling and added features, the 2022 is the upgrade to compare.
