How much does the 2021 Genesis GV80 cost?

Prices have softened 11.25% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 432 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2021 Genesis GV80 a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.9/5 user-rated SUV with an expert score of 7.5/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise the GV80’s luxurious feel, high-tech interior, comfort, and strong performance, especially from the turbo engine. The overview also points to stylish design and strong value for money, which helps explain why it stands out in a crowded luxury SUV segment.

The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine and the cramped third row. That means you should weigh whether you care more about upscale presentation and tech than maximum rear-seat space or the strongest acceleration.

With 35.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2021 Genesis GV80 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. User feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise for the GV80’s comfort, safety features, and strong performance.

The expert review reinforces that impression by highlighting Genesis’s generous warranty coverage and three years of complimentary scheduled maintenance. That kind of coverage can reduce early ownership stress and help you feel more confident about upkeep.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been driven hard enough to show wear in the ride or drivetrain.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Genesis GV80?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a lot of luxury equipment. Focus on overall condition, because the GV80’s appeal depends heavily on how well the cabin, electronics, and ride quality have held up.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GV80’s trim structure changes wheel size and equipment level, with 19-inch, 20-inch, or 22-inch wheels depending on trim. Higher trims add more upscale features, while the base setup is more straightforward.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 375 hp. The four-cylinder is sufficient for most driving, while the V6 is smoother and stronger.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes blind-spot collision avoidance assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, lane-following assist, forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, driver attention warning, safe-exit assist, and more. Some advanced features are part of the broader suite rather than every trim’s standard equipment.
• Infotainment: The GV80 uses a 14.5-inch HD widescreen display, supports wireless-style smartphone integration through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and receives over-the-air updates. Navigation is standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5T is rated at 21 mpg city/25 mpg highway/23 mpg combined with RWD and 21/25/22 with AWD. The 3.5T AWD is rated at 18 mpg city/23 mpg highway/20 mpg combined.

Which 2021 Genesis GV80 trim should I buy?

The 2021 Genesis GV80 is offered in 8 trim levels: 2.5T RWD Standard, 2.5T RWD Advanced, 2.5T RWD Prestige, 2.5T AWD Standard, 2.5T AWD Advanced, 2.5T AWD Prestige, 3.5T AWD Standard, 3.5T AWD Advanced, 3.5T AWD Advanced+, and 3.5T AWD Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• 2.5T RWD Standard: This is the entry point if you want the GV80’s design, cabin quality, and core tech without paying for extra equipment. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model and can live with the simpler setup.
• 2.5T AWD Standard: This is the better-value choice if you want the same basic package with all-wheel drive for added confidence in poor weather. It keeps the GV80’s core strengths while adding more year-round usability.
• 2.5T RWD Advanced: This trim is a smart middle ground if you want more comfort and convenience without jumping too far up the price ladder. It’s a good fit if you want a more premium feel than the base model.
• 2.5T AWD Advanced: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it combines the more useful drivetrain with a richer equipment mix. If you want a balanced used GV80, this is the one to focus on first.
• 2.5T RWD Prestige: Choose this if you want the most upscale version of the four-cylinder model and care more about luxury features than all-weather traction. It suits buyers who want a more fully loaded cabin.
• 2.5T AWD Prestige: This is the top four-cylinder choice if you want maximum equipment and AWD together. It’s the right pick if you want a near-luxury flagship feel without moving to the V6.
• 3.5T AWD Standard: Pick this if you want the smoother, stronger V6 and standard AWD, but don’t need the extra luxury features of the upper trims. It’s the right starting point for buyers who care most about power.
• 3.5T AWD Advanced: This trim adds more equipment while keeping the stronger V6, making it a compelling step up if you want performance and comfort in one package.
• 3.5T AWD Advanced+: This is for shoppers who want a more fully equipped V6 model without going all the way to the top. It’s a strong choice if you want a richer feature set.
• 3.5T AWD Prestige: This is the most luxurious GV80 configuration and the one to buy if you want the fullest expression of the model’s tech and comfort. It’s the top pick if budget is secondary to equipment.

A head-up display is standard on 2.5T AWD Prestige, 3.5T AWD Advanced, Advanced+, and Prestige models, while the 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster is standard on the 3.5T AWD Prestige.

Should I buy a 2021 Genesis GV80 or consider a different year?

• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.25% compared with last year.

• The 2021 model is Genesis’s first SUV, with a three-row layout, strong value positioning, and a luxury-focused cabin that helped establish the GV80 nameplate.

The bottom line: If you want the earliest GV80 with strong value, solid inventory, and a well-regarded luxury experience, the 2021 is the one to target.
