How much does the 2020 Tesla Model Y cost?

Prices are up 5.39% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,118 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model Y a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Tesla Model Y earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its impressive acceleration, spacious interior, and modern technology, and many also value its comfort and the convenience of not having to buy gas. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a practical electric crossover with roomy packaging and a tech-forward cabin. The market also shows 31.8% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Tesla Model Y reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable in everyday use, with praise for comfort, safety features, and the convenience of electric ownership. That said, some drivers mention that certain controls could be easier to access, so you should pay attention to how well the touchscreen-based layout works for you. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core appeal and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and still feels solid in daily use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Tesla Model Y?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report so you can confirm the car’s background and spot any prior damage or title issues. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, cabin, and electronics, since the Model Y’s value depends heavily on condition and how well its tech features work. It also makes sense to focus on how the vehicle drives and whether everything feels consistent with the premium price you’re paying.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Tesla Model Y?

This looks like a moderate market, so you can buy now if you find the right combination of price and condition, but you should still compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,118 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.39% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 79.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,257, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Tesla Model Y's resale value?

The current average of $26,288 sits slightly above last year's $24,943.

That upward move suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year, which can help support resale confidence if you buy carefully. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and avoid accident history, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell. Demand should remain helped by the model’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal among EV shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Tesla Model Y or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.39% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 Model Y is a strong choice if you want the core Tesla crossover formula at a used-car price and you value space, acceleration, and tech. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2020 remains a compelling starting point when you find a clean example at the right price.
