Used 2020 Nissan Versa for Sale nearMcAllen, TX

How much does the 2020 Nissan Versa cost?

Prices have softened 7.38% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 708 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Nissan Versa a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Nissan Versa earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its great value for the price, comfort, and impressive fuel efficiency. They also like that it brings technology and features you usually find in more expensive cars. On the trade-off side, the expert review points to fairly pedestrian performance and a cramped back seat.

For you, that means the Versa makes the most sense if you want an affordable small car that feels better equipped than the cheapest alternatives and you can live with modest space and pace. The market also shows 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which supports its value case.

Is the 2020 Nissan Versa reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback describes the Versa as a car people feel good about living with over time, with repeated praise for value, comfort, and fuel efficiency. The expert review also notes that the new Versa has gained a lot of ground over the car it replaces, which supports the idea that it is a more complete and dependable-feeling small car than the old version.

Its standard 1.6-liter four-cylinder is described as revised and noticeably improved, and the CVT is said to manage power well in both low- and high-speed settings. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright durability than about whether the car has been maintained well and whether you can accept its modest performance and space.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Nissan Versa?

At 61% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint match, and repair quality. Because the Versa is a value-focused car, condition matters a lot: a clean, well-kept example is more likely to deliver the ownership experience you want. It is also worth checking that the brakes feel confident and that the cabin electronics and safety features work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim is the most basic version and comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, a USB connection, push-button start, and manual seats, while the SV adds 16-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, upgraded cloth, and a better infotainment setup. The SR adds 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, a unique grille design, automatic climate control, and passive-entry keyless access. The SV is the best-value choice because it adds the most useful upgrades without pushing the price too far.
• Powertrain: The Versa uses a 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 122 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT, and the CVT is standard on the SV and SR. The engine is improved over the previous version and feels more capable, though performance is still modest.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. It also includes a reversing camera, front- and side-impact airbags, and Nissan's Easy Fill Tire Alert. These features are standard across the lineup.
• Infotainment: The base car gets a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Siri Eyes Free, a hands-free text-messaging assistant, and three USB ports. The SV adds NissanConnect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus an upgraded instrument display with a large color screen.
• Fuel efficiency: With the manual transmission, the Versa returns 27 mpg city and 35 highway, while the CVT returns 32 mpg city and 40 highway.

Which 2020 Nissan Versa trim should I buy?

The 2020 Nissan Versa is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, and SR.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the least expensive way into the Versa, and it gives you the core value story with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, push-button start, three USB ports, and standard driver-assistance features. It makes sense if your priority is keeping the purchase price as low as possible, but it is the bare-bones choice.
• SV: This is the best-value trim. It adds 16-inch alloy wheels, heated side mirrors, upgraded cloth, NissanConnect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a more advanced instrument display. If you want the Versa to feel meaningfully more modern without overspending, this is the one to target.
• SR: This is the most feature-rich version, with 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, automatic climate control, passive-entry keyless access, and a more distinctive exterior look. It suits you if you want the most upscale Versa experience, but the added equipment is more about comfort and appearance than a major change in capability.

All trims include the standard driver-assistance suite with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Nissan Versa?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 708 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.38% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,799, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Nissan Versa's resale value?

The current average of $10,824 sits slightly below last year's $11,686.

That softer pricing suggests the Versa has already absorbed some of its depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. For a seller, the current market indicates you may not see rapid appreciation, but a well-kept example should still appeal to budget-minded shoppers looking for value and standard safety equipment.

Because the model has strong value appeal and broad shopper interest, a clean, well-equipped example should remain easier to move than a neglected one. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Nissan Versa safe?

The 2020 Nissan Versa earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes with a standard driver-assistance suite that includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and automatic high beams. Standard safety equipment also includes a reversing camera, front- and side-impact airbags, and Nissan's Easy Fill Tire Alert.

One caveat is that the expert review notes these systems can raise repair costs after even a minor collision because of the sensors involved. That makes condition and accident history especially important when you are shopping used.

Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Versa or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Prices have softened 7.38% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings improved infotainment, better safety tech, and a livelier ride than the older Versa.

The bottom line: The 2020 Versa is the better pick if you want the newer, better-equipped version of Nissan's budget sedan and you value standard safety tech and strong value. If your main goal is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a different year may be worth considering, but the 2020 is the more complete and appealing choice overall.
