What is the 2020 Mazda MAZDA6's resale value?

The current average of $17,646 sits slightly below last year's $18,411. That suggests the model has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today but may also limit short-term appreciation if you plan to resell soon. For future sellers, the current pricing trend means your best resale outcome will likely depend on condition, mileage, and how well the car is documented. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Mazda MAZDA6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,506, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $17,646 average.
• It keeps the same style-first appeal while adding a more refined sense of premium design and driving enjoyment.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and a decent share of good deals. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year, the 2021 is the better secondary path for buyers who want the same core appeal with a slightly more upscale feel.
