Used 2020 Mazda CX-30 for Sale nearSaint Louis, MO

How much does the 2020 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices have softened 3.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 566 listings available, which gives you a modest pool of used CX-30s to compare.

Is the 2020 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Mazda CX-30 earns a 4.57/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, interior quality, and performance, and they also describe it as a great value in its class. The CX-30’s polished feel and upscale cabin presentation come through strongly in the feedback.

The main trade-offs are that it lacks a few features found in rivals and the base setup can feel a little short on convenience compared with better-equipped trims. The overview also frames it as a crossover that adds usability and ground clearance, but gives up some of the Mazda3’s sharper driving character.

With its compact footprint, higher seating position, and everyday crossover practicality, it suits you well if you want a small SUV that feels more refined than most mainstream alternatives. The market also shows 36.0% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile values to be found.

Is the 2020 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a vehicle that feels stylish, well designed, and a great value, while also highlighting interior quality and performance that owners feel compare well with more expensive brands. That kind of feedback usually lines up with a car people feel good about keeping for the long haul.

The expert evaluation also emphasizes refinement, communicative steering, and a quiet cabin, all of which support the impression of a well-sorted daily driver. Mazda’s ownership value pitch is reinforced by the sense that you get more than you pay for.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability concerns and more about whether the specific example has been maintained well and equipped to your liking.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Mazda CX-30?

At 72.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and any signs of prior repair. Because the CX-30’s appeal depends heavily on its polished feel, condition matters a lot.

Pay extra attention to the trim’s equipment level so you know what you’re getting versus the base model. It’s also smart to confirm that the safety and tech features you want are actually present on the specific car you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base version is the most stripped-down, while Select adds dark tinted rear privacy glass and 18-inch wheels. Preferred and Premium bring a more upscale feel, and Premium is the one with the best headlights.
• Powertrain: The CX-30 uses a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 6-speed sport automatic transmission. AWD is optional, and the setup includes an off-road traction assist system.
• Safety package: Every CX-30 includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, a reversing camera, driver monitoring, automatic high-beam LED headlights, rain-sensing automatic wipers, and 911 automatic emergency notification. Select adds blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic warning, while Premium adds adaptive front lights.
• Infotainment: The CX-30 uses an 8.8-inch static display, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto require Select trim. Bluetooth calling and music streaming, text messaging support, HD Radio, a Pandora app, and Mazda Connected Services are standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The AWD model is rated at 27 mpg in combined driving, and the test loop returned 23.9 mpg.

Which 2020 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2020 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 3 trim levels: Select, Preferred, Premium.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the best-value trim because it adds dark tinted rear privacy glass, 18-inch wheels, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic warning. If you want the most important upgrades without overspending, this is the one to target.
• Preferred: This trim builds on Select with satellite radio and a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system. It suits you if audio quality and a more premium cabin experience matter more than keeping the price as low as possible.
• Premium: This is the most upscale choice, adding paddle shifters, a head-up display, and adaptive front lights. It makes the most sense if you want the fullest feature set and are willing to pay for it.

Premium trim is the one tied to the best headlights, while other versions rely on standard headlights that do not earn the same IIHS result.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Mazda CX-30?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 566 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.24% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 72.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,028, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $18,676 sits slightly below last year's $19,301.

That decline suggests the CX-30 has softened enough to create a more buyer-friendly entry point today. For a future seller, that can mean less immediate upside if prices keep easing, but it also means your purchase price is already closer to the lower end of the market.

The model’s strong safety reputation and positive owner feedback should help support demand over time. Well-kept examples with the right trim and features are likely to remain easier to move than neglected or poorly equipped ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Mazda CX-30 safe?

The 2020 Mazda CX-30 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and five-star ratings in every crash test from NHTSA, along with a four-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Every CX-30 comes with adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, a reversing camera, a driver monitoring system, automatic high-beam LED headlights, rain-sensing automatic wipers, and 911 automatic emergency notification. Select adds blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic warning, while Premium adds adaptive front lights.

One caveat is that the standard headlights are the weak point in the IIHS testing, which is why the better headlight setup is tied to Premium trim.

Should I buy a 2020 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers strong safety ratings and a polished, upscale feel for a small crossover.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $19,351, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $18,676 average.
• It adds a turbo-focused premium feel and stronger acceleration.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition and equipment. If you want a newer model with a more premium turbo character and can spend more, the 2021 is the better upgrade path.
