Used 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar for Sale nearWashington, DC

How much does the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar cost?

Prices have softened 12.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 513 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar a good car?

Yes — owners give it 5/5, and our experts rate it 7.33/10. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its stunning design, luxurious features, and the way it feels fun and comfortable to drive. They also highlight its power and performance, especially with the supercharged engines, while some note that the multimedia system could be better and that the vehicle feels overpriced.

That lines up with the Velar’s role as a style-forward luxury SUV that sits between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport, so you’re shopping it as much for character as for utility. The market also shows 34.9% good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you compare listings carefully.

Is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Review feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free enough to earn strong owner loyalty, with many buyers appreciating its long-term appeal and the confidence it inspires on the road. The expert evaluation also emphasizes the aluminum platform’s solidity and refinement, which supports the impression of a well-built luxury SUV.

Land Rover’s standard four-year, 50,000-mile limited warranty and six-year corrosion/perforation coverage add some ownership reassurance. For a used buyer, the main long-term risk is that luxury complexity can make maintenance and repairs more expensive if the vehicle hasn’t been cared for consistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a documented record. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the suspension, brakes, electronics, and any signs of hard use, since this is a luxury SUV with a lot of equipment. Focus on overall condition and maintenance history, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with more complex options.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model comes fairly well equipped with a power tailgate, Terrain Response, and hill-descent control, but it also lacks some driver aids and only gets an open rear differential. Higher trims add more power and, in the special V8 version, sportier styling touches and larger brakes.
• Powertrain: You can shop a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four, a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 in two outputs, or the 5.0-liter supercharged V8 in the SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition. The V8 brings the most speed and drama, while the turbo-four is the most fuel-efficient choice.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and front and rear parking aids. Adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring are available in an option package, and the base model does not include the full set of driver aids.
• Infotainment: The cabin uses dual 10.0-inch touchscreens, a built-in WiFi hotspot for up to eight devices, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility. It also includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The base turbo-four is rated at 23 mpg combined, while the V6 is rated at 20 mpg combined and the V8 at 17 mpg combined.

Which 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar trim should I buy?

The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar is offered in 1 trim level: SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition.

Here's the short version:

The SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition is the one to choose if you want the most distinctive and powerful Velar in the lineup. It adds a 5.0-liter supercharged V8, bigger brakes, retuned four-wheel drive and air-suspension logic, beefed-up drivetrain hardware, and an active exhaust system, so it delivers the strongest performance and the most special-occasion feel. If you want the Velar mainly for style and luxury rather than outright speed, the standard lineup’s lower-priced versions make more sense, but the Dynamic Edition is the clear enthusiast pick.

Safety-wise, the base model’s driver-assist equipment is limited, and adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring remain part of an option package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards comparison shopping more than impulse buying.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 513 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 79.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,166, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar's resale value?

The current average of $24,166 sits slightly below last year's $27,708.

That price movement suggests the Velar has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right entry point. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it’s time to resell. The model’s luxury appeal and distinctive styling can help sustain interest, but resale will still depend heavily on mileage, condition, and equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar safe?

The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar hasn’t been published with IIHS or NHTSA crash-test ratings.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and front and rear parking aids. Adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring are available as part of an option package that also raises the speed threshold for automatic emergency braking. The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to check the equipment list carefully on any used example.

Should I buy a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Velar or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 model year adds the one-year-only SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition with a V8 engine, giving the lineup extra performance appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the Velar with the most distinctive lineup and the strongest performance story, the 2020 is the year to target. If your priority is simply getting into a Velar at the lowest possible price, a later or earlier example may be worth comparing, but the 2020 stands out for shoppers who want the special-edition V8 and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition and equipment.
