How much does the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport cost?

Prices have softened 15.66% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

The 2020 Range Rover Sport is aimed at you if you want an electrified luxury SUV that still emphasizes style, refinement, and versatility. It brings premium interior materials and stylish design, while the plug-in hybrid setup is meant to preserve the brand’s capability with added efficiency.

The trade-offs are real: cargo space is limited, and the technology can be unintuitive. It also comes across as poor value for money, so it fits you best if you care more about image, comfort, and efficiency than maximum practicality.

38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2020 Range Rover Sport is presented as a vehicle that keeps its traditional capability while adding efficiency, and its plug-in hybrid setup is built around a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, an electric motor, and a battery pack. In testing, it delivered strong fuel economy for a vehicle of this size, which supports the idea that it can be a sensible choice if you want luxury with some efficiency benefits.

The performance notes also suggest you should pay attention to how the drivetrain behaves in real-world use, especially if you plan to rely on electric driving often. For a used buyer, the biggest long-term risk is that complexity can make ownership less straightforward than the badge and price suggest.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, electronics, and charging behavior if you’re considering the plug-in hybrid. Pay close attention to how the vehicle drives in hybrid and electric modes, and make sure the cabin tech responds the way you expect before you buy.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The PHEV starts at HSE trim, while a non-hybrid Range Rover Sport can be had in SE trim for less. The base setup already includes the upscale look and feel, but the PHEV’s higher starting price means you should make sure the added equipment and efficiency are worth it to you.
• Powertrain: The plug-in hybrid combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a 141-hp electric motor and a 13-kWh battery. It produces 398 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque, and Land Rover says it can deliver up to 31 miles of all-electric driving range.
• Safety package: The Range Rover Sport includes lots of advanced driver-assistance systems, and the optional Driver Assist Package adds steering-assist technology. Lane-keeping assist is also mentioned, but the steering-assist and lane-discipline features can feel abrupt, so you should test them carefully.
• Infotainment: The InControl Touch Pro Duo system uses touchscreen controls, apps, voice commands, and gesture controls. The interface can be frustrating, with delayed reactions and occasional unexpected behavior, so you should spend time testing the system before you commit.
• Fuel efficiency: The PHEV averaged 25.5 mpg on a 60-mile loop, and Land Rover says it can travel up to 31 miles on electricity alone. It also returned 41.9 mpg at one point during testing before the battery was depleted.

Which 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport trim should I buy?

The 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is offered in 1 trim level: HSE.

Here's the short version:

The HSE is the trim to focus on if you want the plug-in hybrid version of the Range Rover Sport, since it is the starting point for this powertrain and already delivers the model’s core luxury-and-efficiency appeal. It suits you best if you want the distinctive styling, premium cabin materials, and electrified driving character without stepping into the much pricier performance-tuned territory mentioned in the review.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,099 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.66% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 76.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $29,307, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $29,307 sits slightly below last year's $34,748.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing pressure is already visible, so condition and documentation matter even more.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport safe?

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport comes with lots of advanced driver-assistance systems, but the onboard technology can easily distract a driver.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The optional Driver Assist Package includes steering-assist technology, and the vehicle also has lane-keeping assist. In testing, both systems could feel abrupt, especially when the steering-assist feature tried to center the SUV too aggressively and the lane-keeping assist worked too sharply.

That means you should evaluate the driver-assistance setup carefully on a test drive and decide whether you want those features active in everyday use.

Should I buy a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.6% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It stands out as a plug-in hybrid SUV that blends efficiency with traditional capability.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $33,153, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $29,307 average.
• It adds broader versatility and available three-row seating.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2020 if you want the lower price and the plug-in hybrid’s efficiency-focused appeal. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model with broader versatility, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
