Used 2020 Jeep Renegade for Sale nearFond du Lac, WI

How much does the 2020 Jeep Renegade cost?

Prices have softened 10.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,388 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Jeep Renegade a good car?

Generally — you’re looking at a 4.33/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating, which points to a model that resonates with owners even if it isn’t class-leading overall. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, comfort, spacious interior, and strong highway and rough-terrain manners. The overview also frames it as a personality-first small SUV, with Jeep styling and available off-road capability giving it more character than many rivals.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the transmission can be irritating, and value for money is weak. That makes it a better fit if you want style, comfort, and trail-ready personality rather than the most polished all-around subcompact SUV.

Only 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful comparison shopping.

Is the 2020 Jeep Renegade reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a smooth, comfortable, and spacious vehicle that many drivers feel good about living with over time. That kind of repeat-positive feedback matters when you’re trying to judge whether a used SUV will feel dependable in daily use.

The expert evaluation adds that the Renegade’s technology is easy to use and that its off-road capability helps it stand out in a crowded segment. It also notes that Jeep often offers rebates and discounts, which can soften the sting of the purchase price.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the Renegade’s irritating transmission and modest value proposition may become more noticeable as mileage climbs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Jeep Renegade?

At 71.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the vehicle’s equipment and driving aids work as expected.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Primary trim levels include Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk, and the base Sport starts with a more basic setup than the higher trims. The Trailhawk is the version best suited for off-roading, while the High Altitude test vehicle shows how much more upscale the Renegade can feel when loaded with extras.
• Powertrain: Most models use a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque, while a turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder with 177 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque is available on higher trims. The turbo feels more energetic, but the nine-speed automatic can hesitate and the turbo requires premium fuel.
• Safety package: The Advanced Tech Group adds adaptive cruise control, full-speed forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking assist. The Safety and Security Group adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warning.
• Infotainment: The Renegade uses an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa integration, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The system is easy to use, and the available premium audio system is a plus.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged 1.3-liter averaged 23.6 mpg in combined driving in testing, versus an EPA estimate of 26 mpg.

Which 2020 Jeep Renegade trim should I buy?

The 2020 Jeep Renegade is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Renegade’s core Jeep styling and basic small-SUV utility at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the look and personality without paying for the more expensive equipment.
• Latitude: This is the first step up if you want a more balanced mix of features and value. It should suit you if you want more comfort and convenience without jumping all the way to the pricier trims.
• Limited: This is the better choice if you want a more upscale feel and more of the Renegade’s available equipment. It’s the trim to consider if you care about a richer cabin and broader feature content.
• Trailhawk: This is the one to buy if off-road capability is your priority. It’s the most specialized version and the best fit if you want the Renegade’s Jeep character to matter most.

The safety-package trims are worth seeking out if you want the available driver-assistance features, since those systems are bundled rather than universally standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Jeep Renegade?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,388 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.59% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,644, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Jeep Renegade's resale value?

The current average of $14,644 sits slightly below last year's $16,378.

That decline suggests the Renegade has softened in the used market, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the chance of taking a bigger hit later.

The model’s personality and available off-road capability can still support demand among shoppers who want a Jeep badge in a smaller package. But the weaker value proposition means resale will likely depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Jeep Renegade safe?

The Renegade earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, and it does not carry forward its Top Safety Pick rating from 2019 due to stricter IIHS requirements for 2020.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Advanced Tech Group includes adaptive cruise control, full-speed forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, automatic high-beam headlights, and parking assist. The Safety and Security Group adds blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic warning.

One caveat is that the forward-collision warning system can be abrupt, and the IIHS result is weaker than the model’s broader safety equipment list might suggest.

Should I buy a 2020 Jeep Renegade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 stands out for its easy-to-use technology and available Trail Rated off-road capability.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $16,382, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $14,644 average.
• It adds everyday practicality with standard advanced safety features and a more approachable ownership pitch.

The bottom line: If you want the better bargain, the 2020 is the stronger buy because prices have eased and inventory is healthy enough to shop selectively. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model-year alternative, the 2021 is the cleaner path for buyers who want a slightly more modern-feeling package.
