Overview

The current generation of the Infiniti Q60 was introduced in 2017 and gets much-needed technology updates for 2020. This compact luxury coupe faces off against tough competition that includes the Audi A5, BMW 4 Series, Lexus RC, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Genesis G70.
A 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission comes standard in every Q60, though specs change amongst the trims. The Pure and Luxe models feature 300 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The Red Sport 400 is tuned for 400 hp and 350 lb-ft and adds performance brakes and paddle shifters to better take advantage of the transmission’s manual mode. All trims feature the choice of rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). With RWD, the base engine yields 19 mpg city, 28 highway, and 22 combined, and AWD drops highway mileage by a single mile per gallon on the highway. The Red Sport with RWD gets 20 mpg city, 27 highway, 22 combined, while the AWD version gets 19, 26, 21.
The Q60’s exterior styling is sharp and sleek, with more creases and angles than many of this Infiniti’s contemporaries. The Red Sport 400 models feature larger wheels fitted over performance brakes with red calipers, which add plenty of visual interest.
Standard features include proximity keyless entry, push-button start, synthetic leather upholstery, and a power driver’s seat in the Pure trim. The Luxe adds a power moonroof and a few options packages for available features such as a heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and leather upholstery. These packages come standard on the Red Sport trim, as well as features like memory settings and auto-dimming side mirrors.
For 2020, the Q60’s infotainment system is upgraded to dual HD touchscreen displays, an 8-inch upper and a 7-inch lower, and now includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Siri, Google Voice, navigation, and a WiFi hot spot. Bluetooth, satellite radio, and HD Radio also come standard.
The Q60 has not been evaluated for crashworthiness, which is not uncommon in this class. A reversing camera is standard and options include a surround-view camera system, blind-spot warning, lane-departure warning and prevention, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, adaptive headlights, and parking sensors.
Although the Infiniti Q60 fails to capture as much attention as its leading rivals in the compact luxury car segment, its good looks and new technology have the potential to gain the attention as it deserves.

The 2020 Infiniti is a beautiful vehicle inside and out. It has the power and handling of a true sports car, but with the refinement of a luxury car. It is extremely comfortable to drive but has the power when you need it, or want to have a little fun. Though Infiniti does offer the additional packages that offers lane departure warning, blind spot correction, and intelligent cruise control. The version that I purchased did not. I am not sure why a car of this value would not have those features as a standard feature. Besides that, this is a beautiful vehicle that is extremely fun to drive.
