How much does the 2020 GMC Terrain cost?

Prices have softened 10.56% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,143 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 GMC Terrain a good car?

Generally — the 2020 GMC Terrain earns a 4.43/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners most often praise its comfort, safety features, spacious interior, and economical performance, and many also like the intuitive entertainment system and the more luxurious feel in Denali models. For you, that makes it a good fit if you want a compact SUV with a polished cabin, a comfortable ride, and a strong value proposition rather than maximum cargo space or the quickest highway passing power. With 33.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2020 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 4.43/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable and trouble-free in everyday use, especially when it comes to comfort, safety, and economical performance. That kind of long-term approval matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for routine commuting and family duty. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about finding one with clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 GMC Terrain?

At 68.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, since accident history can affect both condition and long-term value. Put inspection priority on bodywork, alignment, and signs of uneven wear, then make sure the cabin, electronics, and safety systems all work as expected. Because this model is often chosen for comfort and features, you’ll want to focus on overall condition rather than just mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 GMC Terrain?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,143 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.56% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $17,284, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $17,284 sits slightly below last year's $19,325.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has become more affordable for buyers, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may also mean resale values have softened in the near term. If you plan to sell later, the model’s value will likely depend on how well you preserve condition, keep service records, and avoid accident history. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.43/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.43/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2020 Terrain is the better pick if you want a well-equipped compact SUV with strong owner satisfaction, a comfortable ride, and a market that currently offers decent deal availability. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2020 stands out as a balanced choice when you want comfort and features without paying top-of-market pricing.
