About 2020 Cadillac CT6
The Cadillac CT6 is the brand’s largest and poshest sedan, competing with the Lincoln Continental, Acura RLX, BMW 5 Series, and Volvo S90. For 2020, it soldiers on with minor updates. Sometime last year, the base 4-cylinder engine disappeared from the lineup. That leaves a 3.6-liter V6 as the new base engine, making 335 horsepower and 284 pound-feet of torque. Also gone is last year’s twin-turbocharged V6. In its stead is a more potent twin-turbocharged 4.2 liter V8 that measures 500 hp and 574 lb-ft. Both engines hook up to a 10-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive (AWD). Even the standard suspension setup is composed, but Cadillac offers a magnetic ride setup and active rear steering above that. This year, the CT6 comes in Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum grades. The Luxury includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED exterior lighting, a panoramic power sunroof, heated front seats, heated outside mirrors, keyless access and start, 14-way power seats, memory settings, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, an 8-inch instrument cluster LCD, a 10.2-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and 4G LTE hotspot capability. Features on higher trims consist of a 12-inch instrument cluster LCD, ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, backseat entertainment screens, 4-zone climate control, 20-inch wheels, a rear spoiler, and a Bose Panaray system with 34 speakers. As befitting a vehicle of its stature, the CT6 comes with an excellent array of standard and optional safety features. Every model gets forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, a safety-alert seat, a following-distance indicator, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring. Adaptive cruise control, enhanced automatic emergency braking, reverse automatic braking, night vision, and Super Cruise come standard on Premium Luxury and above trims. Super Cruise is a semi-autonomous driving function that works on certain divided-access highways. No major agency has crash-tested the CT6, but that’s pretty normal for large luxury sedans.
