About 2020 Buick Regal TourX
The Buick Regal TourX is a unique proposition in the market. It’s a semi-raised large wagon that’s larger than the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, lower than the Subaru Outback, and considerably less expensive than the Volvo V90 Cross Country. Buick introduced it for 2018, and it marches into 2020 with no changes. All Regal TourX trims benefit from a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine that makes 250 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission and advanced dual-clutch all-wheel-drive (AWD) system transmit power to all four wheels. Even so, the Regal TourX posts respectable fuel-economy numbers: 21 mpg city, 29 highway and 24 combined. Buick gives you the choice of the same Base, Preferred, and Essence trims as last year. The Essence trim includes 18-inch alloy wheels, active noise cancellation, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an 8-way power driver’s seat, LED daytime-running lights, LED taillights, an 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 4G LTE hotspot capability, leather upholstery, and a hands-free power liftgate. Options include a moonroof, an HD radio, and wireless device charging. On the safety front, the only two standard items for the Regal TourX include a reversing camera and Teen Driver, a program that lets you monitor and set parameters for younger drivers. The Driver Confidence I package bundles rear cross-traffic alert, lane-change alert with blind-spot monitoring, and rear parking sensors. The Driver Confidence II package tacks on adaptive cruise control, forward-collision alert, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a following-distance indicator. The Regal TourX has not yet to be tested by either the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). If you’re in need for a larger wagon with ample space and comfort and don’t want to pay luxury-car prices, the Buick Regal TourX is worth a look.
