How much does the 2020 BMW X5 cost?

Prices have softened 12.25% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,080 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2020 BMW X5 a good car?

Yes — the 2020 BMW X5 earns a 4.77/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, luxurious interior, and advanced technology, and they also value the comfort and spaciousness it offers. For you, that means this model fits especially well if you want a premium SUV that balances everyday usability with a more polished driving experience. The market also looks healthy, with 40.3% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2020 BMW X5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also highlights dependable-feeling ownership traits such as build quality, comfort, and a trouble-free overall experience for many drivers. At the same time, some owners mention complex tech systems and high maintenance costs, so long-term ownership risk is more about expense and complexity than basic appeal. If you buy used, plan for careful maintenance history review and a thorough pre-purchase inspection.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 BMW X5?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a vehicle-specific record. Put inspection priority on the condition of the electronics, interior features, and overall maintenance evidence, since this model’s tech and ownership costs can matter over time. Focus on signs of consistent care, especially if you want to avoid surprises after purchase.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 BMW X5?

It looks like a buyer’s market, with meaningful inventory and a noticeable price drop from last year.

• Deal availability: 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,080 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.25% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $27,190, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $27,190 sits slightly below last year's $30,985.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A well-kept example should still attract interest because the model has broad appeal in the luxury SUV segment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 40.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $24,901, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $27,190 average.
• It introduced the redesigned X5 with more room and a modernized cabin.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $31,510, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $27,190 average.
• It adds a plug-in hybrid option for buyers wanting electrified driving.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best all-around choice if you want strong owner satisfaction, healthy inventory, and a softer price than last year. If your priority is spending less, the 2019 is the better value play; if you want newer features and are willing to pay more, the 2021 is the upgrade path.
