The Audi A8 luxury sedan is the halo car in Audi’s lineup, and it was just redesigned for 2019. Standard driving modes include a hybrid mode, an electric mode, and a hold mode that helps conserve electric range for later. In electric mode, the A8 provides audio cues to alert nearby pedestrians. Standard features in the A8 PHEV's swanky, super-size cabin include leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof. Options include upgraded upholstery, multicolored ambient lighting, and heated, cooled, and massaging seats. The A8 plug-in hybrid’s infotainment system features a dual-display touchscreen with a 10.1-inch upper screen and an 8.6-inch lower screen. Both provide haptic feedback, and the lower display features handwriting recognition. Other standard features include Bluetooth, HD Radio, satellite radio, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation with voice control, the Audi virtual cockpit's 12.3-inch customizable display, and a 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo. Standard safety features include a reversing camera, lane-departure warning, the Audi Pre Sense Basic and Pre Sense Front collision-mitigation systems, and front and rear parking sensors. Options include a surround-view camera system, a head-up display (HUD), the Audi Pre Sense Rear collision-mitigation system with rear cross-traffic assist, and Audi Side Assist with vehicle-exit warning.
