Overview
Once a polarizing, awkward-looking, wedge-shaped hatchback, the groundbreaking and segment-leading Toyota Prius now appears simply normal. In 2019, Toyota refreshed the Prius’s most recent generation and introduced all-wheel drive (AWD) as an option on the lineup, employing a trick used by rival automakers: adding an extra electric motor to the rear axle. The Toyota Prius LE AWD-e represents a mid-tier trim in the Prius lineup, as the LE is just one step up from the base model. It’s an efficient way to get around, as long as you like to blend into the crowd.
