2019 Nissan Pathfinder

Nissan has put a lot of energy into its cars and small SUVs in recent years. In comparison, the Pathfinder seems a little neglected. It was last redesigned in 2013 and refreshed in 2017. For 2019, there are new standard and available features, which may help the Pathfinder stay more competitive.
The Pathfinder’s exterior is typical of a midsize SUV, with a wide grille, angular front lighting, and a moderate ride height. Black and chrome trim add visual interest. This year, Mocha Almond Pearl joins the color palette.
Nissan’s 3.5-liter V6 engine, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), powers the Pathfinder. There is 284 horsepower and 259 pound-feet of torque on tap. The front-wheel-drive (FWD) Pathfinder gets an estimated 20 mpg city, 27 highway, and 23 combined. When the Pathfinder is configured with 4-wheel drive (4WD), those numbers drop to 19, 26, and 22.
The Pathfinder seats seven passengers across three rows, and offers an average amount of cargo space for the class. There are four trim levels, starting with the S. It includes push-button start, tri-zone automatic climate control, and six USB ports. The SV trim adds remote start, a proximity key, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a leather steering wheel. To get leather upholstery, heated front seats, and heated second-row seats, take a look at the SL trim. The top-tier Platinum model gets ventilated front seats and a panoramic moonroof. Other options include a heated steering wheel and heated side mirrors.
An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 6-speaker audio system come standard in every Pathfinder. You’ll also get Bluetooth, voice recognition, and hands-free text messaging. A 13-speaker Bose sound system, navigation, a WiFi hot spot, and a rear-row DVD player are optional.
There are no crash-test results for the 2019 Pathfinder as of this writing, but the 2018 model earned a 5-star overall rating from National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and mostly Good scores from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Standard safety features include a reversing camera, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rear sensors, and a rear-seat reminder system. You can add adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a multi-angle camera.
Though the Nissan Pathfinder has lagged behind competitors in recent years as Nissan tended to its better-selling models, this year’s feature updates are a step in the right direction.

Review
by JoseWe opted for the top of the line 4X4 Pathfinder Platinum and are enjoying every moment of it. Our previous Pathfinder was driven in excess of 400k miles and expect the same mechanically. You cannot go wrong with it. -
Review
by Guru9ZVYTTThis Pathfinder is very roomy and comfortable. 3rd row seating is easily accessible and has plenty of room for my adult children. 2nd row seating is also comfortable.. I have not figured out how to change the default setting for the info screen yet. I would like the radio be the default rather than the map. -

by kevionthecurbI test drove the platinum edition that was fully loaded except for it was lacking a Sun roof which was a deal breaker unfortunately. I did enjoy the plush interior and ride quality. We compared this model to GMC Acadia, Dodge Durango, Acura MDX, Chevrolet Traverse, and Ford Explorers. We ended up going with the Acura MDX. Now that is refinement.
