CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid
overall

Summary
With 109 currently listed for sale and an average price of $24,839, 42.2% of 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid 4.25 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.17 / 10.
65.1% of 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid listings on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid stands out as Lexus’s least expensive entry point, effectively replacing the canceled CT 200h. It also has a distinctive look of its own, even though it shares its platform and mechanical components with the Toyota C-HR. That combination gives it a clear identity in the small luxury segment, where style and brand appeal matter as much as practicality.
At the same time, the UX Hybrid’s appeal is limited by some real compromises. Its standard advanced safety features are a plus, but the back seat is cramped and cargo space is limited. The overall value proposition is also weak, so this is a vehicle that makes the most sense for buyers who are especially drawn to its design and Lexus badge rather than for those prioritizing space or value.

I think the Lexus 250 UXh is great value in a compact crossover. It feels like it’s planted on the road. The handling and economy of fuel is excellent. I saw many YouTube videos on the features and it fits my expectations. I’m sure all crossovers in this size are good as well but I like the cross lace front grill. A keeper for me! Thanks

Nice car, smooth drive, comfortable with plenty of useful features. I like it a lot and Im happy with this choice. The trunk space is quite small and not deep. Its fine for my intended use (city driving) but I dont think it would be the best fit as a family car (luggage, stroller etc.)

How much does the 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $24,823 |
| Year-Round Low | $23,135 |
| Year-Round High | $25,785 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $24,409 |
| Change vs. Last Year | +1.70% |
Prices are up 1.70% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.
There are 103 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid a good car?
Generally — the 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 6.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.
It stands out as Lexus’s least expensive entry point and has a distinctive look of its own, which helps it fit buyers who care about style and brand appeal in the small luxury segment. At the same time, the UX Hybrid’s back seat is cramped and cargo space is limited, so it makes more sense if you value design and the Lexus badge more than everyday utility.
The main trade-offs are its weak value proposition and its limited practicality. If you want a small luxury vehicle that prioritizes image and standard safety equipment over space and bargain pricing, this one fits that brief.
33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.
Is the 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid reliable?
Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The UX Hybrid is presented as part of Lexus’s brand strength, with the hybrid powertrain and the brand’s reputation both pointing toward dependable ownership. The review also notes that the UX Hybrid is the more cost-effective version within the lineup, and it highlights the brand’s tendency to retain strong resale values.
The dependability story is helped by the hybrid setup’s low-speed AWD and efficient operation, which should suit you well if you plan to use it as an urban-focused daily driver. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the vehicle’s premium pricing and limited practicality may make it harder to justify if your needs change.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid?
At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, interior wear, and any signs of prior repair. Because this model’s appeal depends heavily on condition and presentation, you’ll want to focus on whether the car still feels clean, tight, and well cared for.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The UX Hybrid is positioned as a stylish small luxury vehicle with a distinctive exterior and a cabin that looks good overall, but the base setup still uses Lexus’s touchpad-style infotainment controls, which can be frustrating to operate. If you’re comparing listings, pay attention to whether a car includes the Premium Package or other convenience upgrades, since the standard setup leaves some features to optional equipment.
- Powertrain: The hybrid drivetrain combines a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, an electric drive motor, a battery pack, and a CVT for 181 horsepower. It is tuned for efficiency and everyday livability rather than excitement, and it includes low-speed AWD through a rear electric motor.
- Safety package: Every 2019 UX includes Lexus Safety System 2.0, which brings adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and road-sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring is not standard.
- Infotainment: The standard system uses a 7-inch display, while navigation-equipped versions get a 10.25-inch display. Apple CarPlay is standard, Android Auto is unavailable, and the system also supports smartwatch, Amazon Alexa, and Google Home compatibility plus a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
- Fuel efficiency: The hybrid powertrain is rated at 39 mpg in combined driving, and the review also notes 37.1 mpg over a longer test period.
Which 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid trim should I buy?
The 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid is offered in 1 trim level: UX 250h.
Here's the short version:
The UX 250h is the version to focus on if you want the hybrid drivetrain, low-speed AWD, and the strongest efficiency story in the lineup. It also brings the standard safety suite, which is a major part of the vehicle’s appeal.
Because there’s only one trim level here, your decision is less about choosing between trims and more about deciding whether the UX Hybrid’s style, badge appeal, and standard safety equipment are worth the compromises in rear-seat space and cargo room.
The safety package is standard across the lineup, but blind-spot monitoring remains optional.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop carefully and compare listings before moving quickly.
- Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 103 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 1.70% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 67.0% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $23,135, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid's resale value?
The current average of $24,823 sits slightly above last year's $24,409.
That upward move suggests the market has held up reasonably well for this model year, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. The current pricing also shows that buyers are still willing to pay for the UX Hybrid’s brand appeal and hybrid efficiency.
For a future seller, that means condition and equipment will matter a lot. A clean, well-kept example should be easier to move than one with accident history or visible wear, especially in a segment where style is a major part of the value equation.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid safe?
The 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Every 2019 UX offers Lexus Safety System 2.0 as standard equipment. That suite includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centering assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and road-sign recognition.
A key caveat is that blind-spot monitoring is not standard and is instead a $500 option. The review also notes that lane-centering assist can be irritating in use, so you may want to test those systems carefully on a drive.
Should I buy a 2019 Lexus UX Hybrid or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices are up 1.70% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- It stands out as Lexus’s least expensive entry point, with standard advanced safety features and a distinctive design that gives it a clear identity in the small luxury segment.
The bottom line: If you want the UX Hybrid’s style, standard safety equipment, and Lexus branding, the 2019 is the right path to consider. If you’re more price-sensitive or need more space and value, you should look at alternatives that better fit those priorities.
