About 2019 Karma Revero
If the 2019 Karma Revero looks familiar, it may be because you remember when it was called a Fisker. Earlier in the decade, Fisker, the California manufacturer of a handsome luxury plug-in hybrid, went belly up and sold its assets to a Chinese company. The sedan, now called the Karma Revero, returned for 2018. The 2019 model largely carries over from 2018. The Karma Revero makes use of two electric motors and a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder sourced from General Motors. The combined system output is 402 horsepower and a whopping 981 pound-feet of torque. Karma boasts that, on a 40-kW connection, the Revero will reach an 80 percent charge in less than half an hour, and it can drive up to 50 miles on electric power alone. The Revero also achieves 60 MPGe in electric mode. Revero drivers can choose between Stealth, Sustain, and Sport driving modes, which adjust the car’s complex drivetrain. Stealth mode drives on pure electric power. Sustain uses the generation to keep the battery charged, and Sport uses the whole system for the maximum possible performance. Aside from its styling and powertrain, the Revero stands out from the crowd with a standard solar roof panel that can provide up to 200W of electric power, and buyers can choose from six different finishes for the interior. Each trim is unique and uses a mix of leather, suede, carbon fiber, and reclaimed wood. All have a 12.3-inch gauge cluster and a 10.2-inch touchscreen in the dash for the infotainment system. Over-the-air software updates, navigation, a 7-speaker stereo, and dual-zone climate control are all standard. Like the old Fisker, though, the Revero is much more cramped on the inside than one would think by looking at this full-size sedan from the outside. The Karma Revero hasn’t been crash-tested, but parking sensors and lane-departure warning come standard. The Karma Revero is a mild improvement over the old Fisker. It faces fierce competition from Tesla or one of the many gas-powered full-size luxury sedans.
