The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

With 36.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 INFINITI QX80 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable in the sense that it delivers the powerful performance, smooth ride, and luxurious features they expect, while also feeling spacious and comfortable for passengers. The V8 powertrain and body-on-frame construction reinforce that durable, truck-like character, and the QX80’s towing-focused setup adds to its workhorse appeal.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that a large luxury SUV like this can be expensive to keep up, especially if fuel costs and maintenance matter to you.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 INFINITI QX80?

At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from ones with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, paint, and interior condition, since owner feedback points to paint quality concerns and this is a luxury SUV where cosmetic wear matters. It also makes sense to confirm that the features you care about are present, because equipment varies by trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Luxe gives you the core QX80 experience, while the Limited adds two-tone 22-inch rims, unique gray metallic paint, stainless steel running boards, and a special black-and-white interior with microsuede inserts and upgraded leather surfaces.
• Powertrain: The QX80 uses a 5.6-liter V8 with 400 horsepower, a 7-speed automatic, and a low-range transfer case; rear-wheel drive is standard on Luxe, while selectable 4-wheel drive is optional on Luxe and standard on Limited.
• Safety package: Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection comes standard, while lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, rear emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring are optional.
• Infotainment: The QX80 uses a touchscreen controlled by a rotary knob, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are missing, and the system is described as old and small.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates the QX80 at 13 mpg city, 19 highway, and 15 combined with 4WD, and 14 city, 20 highway, and 16 combined with RWD.

Which 2019 INFINITI QX80 trim should I buy?

The 2019 INFINITI QX80 is offered in 2 trim levels: Luxe and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Luxe: This is the trim to target if you want the QX80’s core strengths at the lowest entry price. It gives you the big V8, the luxury-SUV presence, and the essential comfort and towing capability without pushing you into the much pricier top end.
• Limited: This is the best fit if you want the richest cabin and the most upscale presentation, thanks to the special two-tone interior, upgraded materials, and exclusive exterior touches. It’s the most indulgent version, but it also carries the steepest price premium.

Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection is standard, while lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, rear emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring remain optional.

What is the 2019 INFINITI QX80's resale value?

The current average of $20,332 sits slightly below last year's $23,631.

That decline suggests the QX80 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and avoid overpaying now, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later. The model’s strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand among shoppers who want a large luxury SUV with a premium feel.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 INFINITI QX80 safe?

The 2019 QX80 did not fare well in frontal crash tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), scoring only two-star ratings for the driver and three-star ratings for the passenger, while earning five-star ratings in side-impact tests and an overall four-star rating.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection comes standard, while lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, rear emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring are optional. The QX80’s older body structure is also a concern, especially given its size and weight.

Should I buy a 2019 INFINITI QX80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 brings a more lavish and pricier feel, with the Limited trim adding a richer cabin and more upscale presentation.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $21,900, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $20,332 average.
• It brings a more premium feel and a fresh face.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter buy because prices have softened and the market still offers decent deal availability. If you’re willing to spend more for a slightly fresher-feeling luxury presentation, the 2020 is the better alternative.
