Is the 2019 Honda Fit reliable?

Owners rate it 4.62/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback highlights reliable performance, and owners also describe it as a dependable, economical car they can count on. That kind of repeat praise matters when you’re evaluating a used car for long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is finding a car whose condition doesn’t match its reputation, so maintenance history and overall wear still deserve close attention.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Honda Fit?

At 59.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, repair quality, and signs of uneven wear so you can avoid paying strong-market money for a car with hidden issues.

What is the 2019 Honda Fit's resale value?

The current average of $16,659 sits slightly above last year's $15,664.

That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay more for this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. A stable, in-demand price pattern also gives you a better chance of recovering value later, especially if you choose a clean, well-kept example. Strong owner satisfaction can help keep buyer interest steady when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Honda Fit or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 6.35% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $15,006, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $16,659 average.
• It offers a well-rounded, practical package with strong value and versatile cargo space.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market signal and are comfortable shopping carefully, the 2019 is the better primary target. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2018 is the smarter secondary path, especially if you find one with a clean history and solid condition.
