How much does the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Prices have softened 5.16% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,067 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview describes it as a midsize sedan that blends value, space, and a broad spread of features, with a roomy cabin and a useful mix of equipment and efficiency. It also highlights a standard eight-inch touchscreen with Chevrolet’s Infotainment 3 system, plus a practical family-car mission without forcing you into a larger or pricier vehicle. The market also shows 30.1% of listings as good or great deals, which supports the case for shopping carefully.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview points to a car that keeps things practical, with a broad spread of features and a focus on everyday usability rather than complexity. It also notes that the Malibu’s cabin is larger and more open-feeling in this generation, which can matter if you plan to live with the car every day. For used buyers, that kind of straightforward setup can help reduce ownership headaches, especially if you choose a well-maintained example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Malibu?

At 52.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, since that will help you separate clean examples from cars with past damage. A pre-purchase inspection should be a priority, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage or lower-priced listing. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and how the car drives, because a clean-looking listing can still hide wear that affects long-term value.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,067 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.16% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,649, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $12,682 sits slightly below last year's $13,372.

That softer pricing suggests the Malibu is still accessible on the used market, but it also means future sellers may need to stay realistic about asking prices. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to limit depreciation pain later. The current market also suggests that clean, well-priced examples should remain easier to move than overpriced ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Malibu is the better fit if you want a roomy, value-focused midsize sedan with strong owner satisfaction and a market that has become a bit more buyer-friendly. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years, but the 2019 stands out as a sensible target when you find a clean, well-priced example.
