CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Acura RDX
overall

Summary
With 1,283 currently listed for sale and an average price of $22,799, 31.8% of 2019 Acura RDXs for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Acura RDX 4.42 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.83 / 10.
72.2% of 2019 RDX models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Acura RDX stands out as a completely redesigned small luxury crossover that aims to move the nameplate upmarket. Acura’s goal was to make it a serious rival to pricier entries in the segment while keeping the qualities that made it successful in the first place. That gives the RDX a distinctive mix of mainstream appeal and premium ambition, which helps explain why it remains such a popular choice.
It also has a strong practical side. The RDX is described as spacious, loaded with features, and comfortable inside, and owners echo that with praise for its stylish design, comfort, performance, smooth and quiet ride, and rich interior amenities. The main drawback is the infotainment system, which is called clunky and difficult to navigate, so the cabin’s strengths are tempered by a control interface that can frustrate some buyers.

For a 2019, this SUV has great features and feels truly like a luxury vehicle.

Firstly, the 2019 RDX has become one of my favourite SUVs available for multiple reasons. It has all the main features included in present-day vehicles such as; lane assist, crash detection, blindspot assist, etc. Apple CarPlay integration is huge for an Apple-dominant home and it plays music almost perfectly through the ELS STUDIO 3D sound system. Secondly, the drivability of the RDX is great; its comfortable and works its way up into a sporty drive when switching the drive modes. Living in Canada means harsh winters and the SH-AWD gives my Lady and I confidence in every condition when equipped with good winter tires. I thought the RDX was a bit pricey when we picked up the car in 2021 but now owning the car for a couple of years, I think we made the right choice. It still has a great road presence because its aesthetically aggressive and sharp. Panoramic Roof, the front grille and the jewel lights are my favourite visual parts of this design. Couple things I would love to have though: HUD, Wireless CarPlay, Eco Mode (Not Automatic Engine Off). The reason I am not giving this platform a 5-star rating is because of the issues Ive faced in ownership. Ive had one recall involving the fuel system which wasnt bad but the timing was horrible. My glorious panoramic roof occasionally pops when the vehicle body endures bumps or uneven road surfaces. This one is big; the rearview glass is notorious for shattering because of a faulty design from the manufacturer. I was really hoping Acura would recall these beautiful SUVs and correct the error but that isnt the case as yet. Even with newer models, the problems seem to persist so be ready for this. Even with these problems, I believe this still holds the title of my favourite SUV. Might even upgrade to a newer model but Im more attracted to the 2019s sharper lines compared to the 2022s facelift smoother look. Id say amongst its competitors; BMW X4, X5, Lexus RX, Mercedes GLC, etc Id still opted to choose the Acura.

This car is comfortable and quick! Best ride of all the small SUVs I test drove. Fun to drive and feels very safe. Was surprised the ‘technology’ package does not have navigation-you have to utilize through your phone, which I haven’t quite figured out.

Is the 2019 Acura RDX a good car?
Generally — 4.42/5 from owners points to strong shopper satisfaction, and the expert score is 7.83/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.
Owners repeatedly praise the stylish design, comfort, performance, powerful turbo engine, and smooth, quiet ride. The RDX also fits well if you want a spacious cabin and a long list of features in a compact luxury crossover. The main tradeoff is the infotainment system, which owners describe as difficult to navigate.
With 32.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively while still finding value.
Is the 2019 Acura RDX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.42/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers describing the RDX as a vehicle they can count on over time. The expert drive notes reinforce that impression by emphasizing the RDX’s solid value and well-rounded character. Acura also includes a strong standard equipment set, which helps reduce the need to chase options just to get core features.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic durability and more about whether the vehicle was maintained well and equipped the way you want.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Acura RDX?
At 72.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the equipment level matches the trim you want. Because some desirable features are bundled into packages, it’s worth confirming exactly what’s installed before you buy.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base RDX comes well equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, Jewel Eye LED headlights, LED fog and taillights, a power liftgate, a power panoramic moonroof, leather upholstery, heated 12-way power front seats, dual-zone climate control, remote keyless entry with push-button start, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Technology Package adds perforated Milano premium leather, GPS-linked climate control, voice recognition, navigation with real-time traffic updates, the ELS premium audio system, and extra driver-assistance features. The A-Spec Package adds dark 20-inch wheels, gloss-black exterior accents, ventilated front seats, red ambient lighting, brushed aluminum pedals, and unique interior and exterior styling. The Advance Package adds 16-way front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, natural olive ash burl wood trim, a head-up display, a 360-degree surround-view camera, and a reversing camera washer.
- Powertrain: You get one engine: a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder with 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. It pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission and is available with front-wheel drive or SH-AWD. The AWD system can send up to 70 percent of torque rearward and split that torque side to side, which helps with traction and sporty handling.
- Safety package: AcuraWatch includes forward-collision warning, forward-collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, road-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. The Technology Package adds front and rear parking sensors plus blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The Advance Package adds a head-up warning system.
- Infotainment: The RDX uses a 10.2-inch HD monitor with Acura’s True Touchpad infotainment system. It includes Bluetooth, HD Radio, two front USB ports, and Apple CarPlay, but no Android Auto.
- Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model returns 22 mpg city, 28 highway, and 24 combined. The AWD version returns 21/27/23.
Which 2019 Acura RDX trim should I buy?
The 2019 Acura RDX is offered in 4 trim levels: RDX, Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package.
Here's the short version:
- RDX: This is the value play if you want the core redesign and a long standard-equipment list without paying for extras. You still get the 10.2-inch display, AcuraWatch, leather upholstery, heated power front seats, a panoramic moonroof, and the turbocharged engine. It makes the most sense if you care more about the fundamentals than premium add-ons.
- Technology Package: This is the best-value upgrade for many shoppers because it adds navigation, the ELS premium audio system, more driver-assistance features, and upgraded leather. If you want the most useful mix of comfort, tech, and convenience without jumping to the pricier trims, this is the one to target.
- A-Spec Package: Choose this if you want the sportier look and extra style content, plus ventilated front seats and the upgraded ELS Studio 3D audio system. It suits you best if appearance and cabin ambiance matter as much as equipment.
- Advance Package: This is the luxury-first choice, with the most comfort and convenience features, including heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, and a surround-view camera. It’s the trim to buy if you want the most complete RDX experience.
The Technology Package adds front and rear parking sensors and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, while the Advance Package adds a head-up warning system.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Acura RDX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,279 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.29% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 72.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $22,248.50, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Acura RDX's resale value?
The current average of $22,794 sits slightly below last year's $24,067.
That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the RDX’s broad appeal, strong feature content, and positive owner feedback should help support demand. The biggest factor will be how well the vehicle is equipped and maintained, since shoppers in this segment tend to compare condition and features closely.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.42/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2019 Acura RDX safe?
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
The RDX comes standard with a reversing camera, tire pressure monitoring system, traction control, and a full array of front and side impact airbags. AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning, forward-collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, road-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. The Technology Package adds front and rear parking sensors plus blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, while the Advance Package adds a head-up warning system.
Should I buy a 2019 Acura RDX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 72.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.29% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.42/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
- The 2019 model was completely redesigned, bringing a more upscale cabin, stronger feature content, and a more serious luxury-crossover feel.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $24,884, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $22,794 average.
- It carries over the third-generation redesign with more content at a lower price than rivals.
The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the stronger buy because pricing has softened and inventory is healthy. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2020 is the secondary path, but the 2019 already delivers the redesign, features, and safety tech that make this generation appealing.
