How much does the 2018 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 9.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,567 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2018 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the comfort, features, and value for money, while also highlighting the truck’s power and towing capacity. The 2018 RAM 1500’s roomy cabin, smooth ride, and useful tech make it especially appealing if you want a full-size pickup that feels more refined in daily driving. With 34.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2018 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a truck that feels dependable in everyday use, with praise centered on comfort, features, and value. Mentions of power and towing capability reinforce the sense that it can handle regular truck duties without feeling fragile. For used buyers, that kind of satisfaction lowers the odds of unpleasant long-term ownership surprises, though condition still matters on a truck this age.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 RAM 1500?

At 66.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with prior damage. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, signs of repair quality, and whether the truck’s comfort and tech features still work as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,567 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.75% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,596, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $19,596 sits slightly below last year's $21,712.

That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money now, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter even more because buyers will compare your truck against a large pool of listings. Well-kept examples should still hold attention better than average ones, especially when they present as clean, comfortable, and well equipped.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $23,488, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $19,596 average.
• It brings a redesigned, more refined full-size truck experience.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2018 is the stronger starting point because pricing is softer and inventory is broad. If you’re willing to pay more for the next-generation redesign and a more upscale feel, the 2019 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2018 offers the more compelling balance of comfort, features, and market value.
