Is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE reliable?

Owners rate it 4.69/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE?

At 62.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Focus on overall condition, service records, and how the SUV behaves on a test drive, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, where you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

What is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE's resale value?

The current average of $19,666 sits slightly below last year's $22,135.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the good news is that the GLE still has broad appeal thanks to its luxury image, comfort, and strong owner satisfaction. If you keep the vehicle in excellent condition and maintain it well, you give yourself a better chance of preserving value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.69/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLE or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.16% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.69/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 GLE makes the most sense if you want a comfortable, upscale SUV and you find one with strong history and a fair price. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and shop the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker alone.
