How much does the 2018 Lexus IS cost?

There are 472 listings available, which gives you a moderate amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 Lexus IS a good car?

Generally — the 4.4/5 user rating points to a well-liked used sedan. Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, stylish design, and sporty feel, and many also appreciate the turbo engine and advanced safety features. The overview fits that feedback: you’re looking at a compact luxury sports sedan that works best if you want something engaging, premium, and not overly large. With 31.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Lexus IS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reviewers also describe it in reliability-adjacent terms by emphasizing its smooth, trouble-free feel and the confidence that comes from a car they expect to count on over time. That matters if you want a used luxury sedan that should feel reassuring rather than high-strung. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Lexus IS?

At 44.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch bodywork, alignment, or hidden wear issues. Focus on overall condition, service records, and how the car drives, since a clean-looking listing is not always the same as a clean-history car. If you’re comparing multiple examples, give extra weight to the ones with strong documentation and no signs of prior damage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Lexus IS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 472 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 44.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,526, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Lexus IS's resale value?

The current average of $22,607 sits slightly below last year's $23,216.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. If you purchase near the lower end of the range and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it’s time to sell. Demand should also be helped by the model’s premium feel and sporty character, which continue to appeal to used shoppers.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Lexus IS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 44.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want a compact luxury sports sedan with a favorable price trend and strong owner approval. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2018 remains the better fit when you want a balance of value, style, and sporty appeal.
