Used 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar for Sale nearDallas, TX

How much does the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar cost?

Prices have softened 15.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 425 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar a good car?

With a user rating of 3.7/5 and an expert rating of 7.3/10, the Velar looks strongest if you care most about style, cabin quality, and road manners. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its stunning design, luxury features, beautiful interior, and smooth driving experience. The overview also positions it as a more pavement-friendly Range Rover that fills the middle ground between the larger Sport and smaller Evoque, so it makes the most sense if you want a luxury SUV with a distinctive identity rather than maximum utility.

The market shows 33.6% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar reliable?

The Velar is presented as a luxury SUV with a solid-feeling structure and standard driver aids, but owner feedback points to mixed long-term durability. Reviewers specifically mention reliability concerns and cosmetic damage on inspected vehicles, so you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important.

The expert notes also describe a vehicle that is mechanically composed and laid-back on the road, with street-focused tuning rather than heavy off-road hardware. That helps the driving experience, but it also means you should be attentive to how the vehicle has been used and maintained over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a stylish, tech-heavy luxury SUV can become expensive if prior care was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar?

At 71.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you get serious about any listing, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks for prior bodywork, cosmetic issues, and signs of uneven wear. Because owner feedback mentions cosmetic damage and reliability concerns, condition matters as much as mileage or trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base P250 is less well-appointed than higher trims, while loaded versions add more upscale equipment and features. The cabin quality is high across the range, but the more expensive trims are the ones that better deliver the full luxury experience.
• Powertrain: The gasoline four-cylinder P250 makes 247 hp and is the base engine, while the P380 uses a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with 380 horsepower and stronger performance. The diesel P180 is described as smooth and strong in midrange driving, with better fuel economy.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes auto braking with pedestrian detection, forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, Low Traction Launch, and blind-spot monitoring. The lane-keep assist does not actively steer the vehicle, and there is no semi-autonomous capability.
• Infotainment: The system includes onboard Wi-Fi, live weather, news, sports scores, and traffic, plus remote rear-seat folding from a smartphone app. The tech is feature-rich, but the review warns about software bugs and freezing screens.
• Fuel efficiency: The gasoline four is rated at 21 mpg city and 27 mpg highway. The diesel is rated at 26 mpg city and 30 mpg highway, while the V6 returns 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway.

Which 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar trim should I buy?

The 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar is offered in 3 trim levels: P250, P180, P380.

Here's the short version:

• P180: This is the efficiency-focused choice if you want the diesel’s stronger low-end torque and better fuel economy. It suits you best if you value smooth everyday driving and lower fuel use over outright speed.
• P250: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it gives you the base Velar experience at the lowest entry point, with the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and the core luxury look and feel.
• P380: This is the pick if you want the strongest performance and the most upscale feel, with the supercharged V6, more muscle, and the richer equipment level described in the review.

Safety content notes that the Velar has not been rated by NHTSA or IIHS, so you should lean heavily on the standard driver-assistance features and your own inspection.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 425 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.09% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,745, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar's resale value?

The current average of $18,745 sits slightly below last year's $22,076.

That drop suggests the Velar has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be good news if you are buying used. For a future seller, though, it means resale value may remain sensitive to condition, mileage, and service history.

Because the market is still pricing this model below where it was a year ago, a well-kept example should hold up better than one with visible wear or incomplete records. If you plan to resell later, keeping the vehicle clean, documented, and mechanically sorted will matter a lot.

Is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar safe?

The Velar has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes auto braking with pedestrian detection, forward-collision alert, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and Low Traction Launch. The lane-keep assist does not actively steer the vehicle, and there is no semi-autonomous capability, so you should not expect the most advanced hands-off driver-assistance setup.

Should I buy a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.09% compared with last year.
• The 2018 stands out as an all-new Velar with a clear identity as a more pavement-friendly, style-forward Range Rover, and the expert review highlights its strong road manners and striking design.

The bottom line: If you want the Velar’s distinctive styling, upscale cabin, and road-focused character, the 2018 is the right place to start. If you are more price-sensitive, you can still find value here, but you should be especially selective about condition, history, and maintenance records.
