Is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

Generally — with a 4.25/5 user rating, this model year lands in a favorable range for shoppers who want a luxury SUV with real off-road credibility. The overview points to a premium cabin, strong engines, polished road manners, and added family flexibility from the longer wheelbase and available 5+2 seating. It also stands out for its blend of performance and capability, while still feeling like an expensive midsize SUV by segment standards.

The market also shows 37.0% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.25/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview still flags reliability as a weak point, along with fuel economy and ownership costs, so you should treat this as a vehicle that can reward careful ownership but may be expensive to keep in top shape. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that repair and maintenance costs can outweigh the appeal if the truck has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

At 74.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of inconsistent wear, then make sure the vehicle drives and operates as expected across all major systems. Because this model sits in a premium segment, condition matters a lot more than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

If you find a listing below $23,014, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $23,019 sits slightly below last year's $26,844.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that pricing discipline matters: a well-kept example should still attract interest, but you may need to price competitively to move it. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.25/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.25/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the better pick if you want the refreshed second-generation Range Rover Sport with strong capability, a premium cabin, and a market that has become more favorable on price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may make sense only if you find a cleaner example or a meaningfully lower asking price, but the 2018 remains the more balanced choice for shoppers who value the updated package and can accept the ownership tradeoffs.
