Generally — 4.25/5 is a strong user rating for a luxury SUV, and this model’s appeal comes from its blend of high-end style, genuine off-road credibility, and a premium cabin. The 2018 update also improved passenger and cargo space, added a more flexible seating arrangement, and brought useful tech and safety upgrades, which makes it especially appealing if you want capability without giving up refinement. At 74% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on any promising listing and confirm whether prior damage was cosmetic or structural. What is the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $22,969 sits slightly below last year's $26,723.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be able to soften the impact of depreciation. The key is to avoid overpaying for a truck with questionable history or deferred maintenance, since those factors can weigh on future demand.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.25/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.05% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the right pick if you want the updated second-generation Range Rover Sport with stronger tech, more space, and a more polished feel than earlier versions. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it with nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price.
