How much does the 2018 Kia Sportage cost?

Is the 2018 Kia Sportage a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its solid build, comfortable ride, and impressive interior features, and they also highlight its power and acceleration. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a compact SUV with a roomy cabin, a smooth ride, and a well-equipped feel. With 30.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value in the market.

Is the 2018 Kia Sportage reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes a reliable-feeling ownership experience, with language centered on solid build quality and trouble-free confidence. That kind of response suggests the Sportage can be a reassuring choice if you want a used SUV you can count on over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about sentiment and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been cared for consistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Kia Sportage?

At 62.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage or repairs. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus your evaluation on overall condition, maintenance evidence, and signs of past bodywork or uneven wear.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Kia Sportage?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without rushing.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,310 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,730, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $11,730 sits slightly below last year's $12,628.

That price movement suggests the model has softened, which can limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you can help offset some of that depreciation. Demand should remain supported by the Sportage’s strong owner satisfaction and practical appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $11,026, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $11,730 average.
• It offers bold styling and solid value.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2018 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and inventory. If your top priority is saving money upfront, the 2017 is the better value-oriented path.
