How much does the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee cost?

Prices have softened 8.05% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 5,763 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — 4.7/5 is a strong user rating, and drivers consistently praise its strong performance, comfort, and luxurious features. The review summary also points to a spacious interior, impressive technology, and off-road capability, which makes it appealing if you want a midsize SUV that can handle daily driving and weekend versatility. At the same time, the overview shows it was aimed at buyers who wanted a more premium, family-friendly feel without giving up Jeep capability. With 30.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive price.

Is the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary points to a vehicle many owners find dependable and trouble-free enough to recommend, especially when they value comfort, performance, and capability over simplicity. That said, the model’s mixed reputation in the overview means you should still pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a neglected example can become more expensive to keep than the average SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

At 62.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden damage or repair quality issues. Focus on body condition, signs of prior collision work, and whether the vehicle’s equipment and features all function as expected. Because this model can vary widely by trim and use case, a careful condition check matters as much as the asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,763 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.05% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,383, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $16,386 sits slightly below last year's $17,820.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. A softer market can also make resale more competitive, since you may need to price carefully to stand out. Strong condition and a clean history will matter more when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.05% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $14,140, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $16,386 average.
• It offers broad lineup appeal with strong off-road character.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $17,878, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $16,386 average.
• It adds everyday usability with strong on-road and off-road balance.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the best all-around pick if you want a strong mix of value, satisfaction, and available inventory. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2017 is the better budget path, while the 2019 makes sense if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling alternative.
