Is the 2018 INFINITI QX80 a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its ride quality, attractive design, and value, especially for the amount of luxury equipment you get. Is the 2018 INFINITI QX80 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with praise centered on long-term comfort and the sense that it delivers solid value over time. That said, used buyers should still plan for the usual age-related wear on a large luxury SUV, especially if the vehicle has seen heavy family or towing use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 INFINITI QX80?

At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, panel alignment, interior wear, and signs of deferred maintenance. Because this is a large luxury SUV, you should also pay close attention to how the vehicle drives, brakes, and shifts under normal use.

What is the 2018 INFINITI QX80's resale value?

The current average of $18,765 sits slightly below last year's $21,658.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Well-kept examples should hold up better than average because shoppers in this segment still respond to a premium-feeling, well-equipped SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 INFINITI QX80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.36% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $20,969, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $18,765 average.
• It feels more lavish and pricier, with a more upscale presentation.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition and history. If you want a newer-feeling, more upscale version and are willing to pay more, the 2019 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize luxury over price.
