27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some room to find a compelling offer.

Is the 2018 Honda Fit reliable?

Owners rate it 4.44/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a car people can count on for everyday use, with recurring praise for its spacious cabin, excellent fuel economy, and easy maneuverability. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Fit feels like a complete, well-rounded car rather than a bare-bones economy model, which supports the case for dependable day-to-day ownership.

Honda Sensing is standard on EX and EX-L trims, and available on LX and Sport with the CVT, which adds another layer of confidence for used buyers who want more driver assistance. For long-term ownership, the main risk is less about the car’s core durability and more about making sure the specific used example has been cared for properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Honda Fit?

At 55.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and signs of prior repair. Because the Fit is often used as a practical daily driver, condition matters a lot: check the cabin, cargo area, and all convenience features to make sure the car still feels as complete as it should.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX comes standard with power locks, power windows, air conditioning, a power moonroof, a four-speaker stereo, Bluetooth connectivity, and a USB port. The Sport adds 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, an upgraded lower front spoiler, side underbody spoilers, a 6-speaker stereo, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, and a 7-inch touchscreen. The EX adds push-button start, cargo tie-downs, SiriusXM satellite radio, telescoping sun visors, and SmartLock. The EX-L adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, heated body-color side mirrors, and integrated turn signals in the mirrors.
• Powertrain: There is one engine, a 1.5-liter inline 4-cylinder, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission. The manual makes 130 horsepower and 114 pound-feet of torque, while the CVT makes 128 hp and 113 lb-ft of torque. The Fit is described as peppy around town, with sharp handling and responsive steering.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward-collision warning and avoidance, lane-departure warning, and road-departure mitigation. It comes standard on EX and EX-L trims, and it is available on LX and Sport only with the CVT.
• Infotainment: Sport, EX, and EX-L trims get a 7-inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come on every model but the LX, and the system includes a volume knob, though the interface is described as less polished than some rivals.
• Fuel efficiency: The 6-speed manual returns 29 mpg city, 36 highway, and 31 combined. The CVT is rated at 33 city, 40 highway, and 36 combined. In testing, the Fit returned 29.1 miles per gallon combined.

Which 2018 Honda Fit trim should I buy?

The 2018 Honda Fit is offered in 4 trim levels: LX, Sport, EX, and EX-L.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value entry point if you want the Fit’s core practicality at the lowest price. You still get power locks, power windows, air conditioning, a power moonroof, Bluetooth, and a USB port, but you give up the touchscreen and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto found higher up.
• Sport: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds the 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a better stereo, and a more distinctive exterior look without jumping all the way to the top of the range.
• EX: This is the smart step-up if you want more convenience and safety tech. Push-button start, SmartLock, cargo tie-downs, SiriusXM, and standard Honda Sensing make it a well-equipped middle ground.
• EX-L: Choose this if you want the most comfort-focused Fit. Leather upholstery, heated front seats, and heated mirrors make it the most upscale version, though it is also the priciest.

Honda Sensing is standard on EX and EX-L trims, and available on LX and Sport only with the CVT.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Honda Fit?

This looks like a moderate, selective-buyer market, so you should shop carefully and compare listings rather than rushing.

• Deal availability: 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 345 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.05% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 55.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,645, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Honda Fit's resale value?

The current average of $14,683 sits slightly above last year's $14,531.

That modest increase suggests the Fit has held value reasonably well, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. The current pricing also shows that buyers still see this model year as a practical, desirable used car rather than a bargain-bin option.

Because the year-over-year change is positive, you may not see dramatic depreciation pressure in the near term. A well-kept Fit with the right trim and clean history should remain easier to move than a less versatile economy car.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.44/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Honda Fit safe?

The 2018 Honda Fit earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

It includes standard safety features such as front- and side-impact airbags, the LATCH child-seat anchoring system, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a reversing camera with multiple angles and guide-lines that turn with the steering wheel. Honda Sensing is standard on EX and EX-L trims, and available on LX and Sport with the CVT, with forward-collision warning and avoidance, lane-departure warning, and road-departure mitigation.

The available Honda LaneWatch system is another useful feature, projecting a camera view of the right-side blind spot onto the center touchscreen when you signal right. That said, the safety package is not identical across trims, so you should confirm exactly which driver-assistance features are included on the specific car you’re considering.

Should I buy a 2018 Honda Fit or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.05% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.44/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2018 refresh brings more advanced safety features, an updated suspension for sharper handling, and the return of the Sport trim.

The bottom line: If you want a used Fit that blends practicality, strong owner satisfaction, and a broad feature set, the 2018 model year is a sensible target. If your priority is finding the lowest possible price, you can still shop nearby years, but the 2018’s mix of safety, utility, and value makes it the better all-around pick for most buyers.
