Is the 2018 Audi A6 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience, with drivers describing the car as a luxurious ride they enjoy living with over time. That kind of response suggests the A6 can be a reassuring choice if you want something you can count on for regular use.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the overall reputation and more about how well a specific example has been maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Audi A6?

At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on the body, suspension, electronics, and interior condition. Because this is a luxury sedan, you’ll want to focus on how well the car has been cared for rather than just the odometer reading.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Audi A6?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 658 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,367, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Audi A6's resale value?

The current average of $16,387 sits slightly below last year's $17,857.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. If you plan to resell later, the softer current pricing may limit near-term upside, but it can also make the car easier to move if you buy well. Strong condition and clean history will matter a lot if you want to protect value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Audi A6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $21,522, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $16,387 average.
• It brings a redesigned cabin with a new MMI approach and more advanced driver-assistance tech.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2018 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and meaningful deal availability. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer redesign and updated technology, the 2019 is the better upgrade path. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2018 is the more practical choice; for shoppers prioritizing the newest feel, the 2019 is worth the stretch.
