Should I buy a 2018 Audi A4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $13,274, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $15,389 average.
• It offers a redesigned, forward-looking take on the A4 with strong tech appeal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and inventory. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2017 is the better value play, especially if you find one in clean condition.
