How much does the 2017 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 2,953 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy number of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Generally — the 4.48/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel economy, and cargo space, and many also like the smooth ride and useful feature set. The 2017 RAV4 fits especially well if you want a practical family hauler with everyday usefulness rather than a vehicle built around driving excitement. With 33.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.48/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback highlights reliability, and owners also describe it as dependable and trouble-free in everyday use. That lines up with the RAV4’s reputation for long-term ownership appeal, especially if you want a used SUV you can count on for routine commuting and family duty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s core durability and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by heavy use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Toyota RAV4?

At 52.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any listing that looks especially appealing on price. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the cabin and mechanicals match the mileage and asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota RAV4?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,953 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,661, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $17,684 sits slightly above last year's $17,593.

That kind of steady pricing suggests the RAV4 continues to hold buyer interest rather than losing value quickly. For a future seller, that means you may benefit from a market that remains familiar with the model and willing to pay for the right example, especially if it has strong condition and a clean history.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.48/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.48/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

The 2017 RAV4 is a strong choice if you want a practical, well-liked compact SUV with steady pricing and broad appeal. If your priority is value and you find a clean, well-kept example, this year makes sense as the primary target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a similar RAV4 offers a better deal or cleaner history for less money.
