Used 2017 Nissan Titan for Sale nearFort Worth, TX

How much does the 2017 Nissan Titan cost?

Prices have softened 6.82% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,082 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2017 Nissan Titan a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Nissan Titan earns a 4.59/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its power, spaciousness, value for money, smooth ride, technology features, and ability to handle heavy loads. That lines up with the Titan’s role as a full-size pickup that feels like a serious truck rather than a novelty, especially if you want something substantial without following the crowd. The market also shows 34.2% of listings as good or great deals, which supports the case for shopping carefully.

Is the 2017 Nissan Titan reliable?

Owners rate it 4.59/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user review summary points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with owners highlighting its power, smooth ride, and value for money. The expert drive notes also describe it as a “real truck” with enough strength to haul four adults and their luggage without much effort, which reinforces the sense that it can handle regular work and travel duties. Nissan’s 5-year/100,000-mile warranty coverage is another ownership plus.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic capability and more about whether the truck’s condition and maintenance history match its workload.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Titan?

At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of body panels, alignment, tires, and underbody condition. Because this is a full-size pickup, pay extra attention to signs of hard use, especially if the truck may have been asked to tow or haul regularly. It also makes sense to verify that the equipment level matches what you want, since the Titan’s appeal changes a lot by trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Platinum Reserve stands out with polished 20-inch wheels, two-tone paint, and a two-tone brown leather interior with quilted stitching, while base and mid-grade trucks are described as sufficient rather than luxurious.
• Powertrain: The Titan comes with a 5.6-liter V8 making 390 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque, and the XD adds an optional 5.0-liter Cummins diesel V8 with 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque.
• Safety package: Aside from blind-spot monitoring, there are no driver-assist features like auto-braking or forward-collision alerts.
• Infotainment: The Titan uses a 7-inch touchscreen, but Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not offered.
• Fuel efficiency: The Titan averaged 17 mpg in testing, and the EPA rating is 15 mpg city and 21 highway.

Which 2017 Nissan Titan trim should I buy?

The 2017 Nissan Titan is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, SL, Pro-4X, and Platinum Reserve.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Titan’s core capability at the lowest price and can live without the richer cabin details found higher up.
• SV: This is the trim most buyers should start with because it should give you a better balance of equipment and value than the base truck without pushing you into luxury pricing.
• SL: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and are willing to pay for extra comfort and presentation.
• Pro-4X: This is the one to consider if you want the trail-tuned setup mentioned in the test drive notes, especially for better confidence in snow or rougher conditions.
• Platinum Reserve: This is the most luxurious choice, with the richest interior treatment and the most premium appearance details, but it makes the most sense only if you want the top-end experience.

The safety content notes that the Titan has only blind-spot monitoring and lacks broader driver-assistance features, so even higher trims do not add a full safety-tech suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Titan?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,082 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,380, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Titan's resale value?

The current average of $19,381 sits slightly below last year's $20,800.

That price movement suggests the Titan has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right number today. If you shop near the low end of the range and keep the truck in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss when it comes time to sell. The market also appears reasonably active, which can help support resale liquidity.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.59/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Nissan Titan safe?

The 2017 Nissan Titan earns a Marginal rating in the IIHS small front overlap crash test and Good ratings in the four other IIHS tests.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety content says the Titan includes blind-spot monitoring, but it does not offer auto-braking, forward-collision alerts, or similar driver-assistance features. That leaves you with a truck that has some basic awareness tech, but not the broader active-safety coverage many rivals offer. The IIHS small-overlap result is the main caveat to keep in mind if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Titan or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.59/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert summary says there’s “a real truck here,” which fits buyers who want a serious full-size pickup that still feels a bit overlooked.

The bottom line: If you want a used Titan with a lower average price and a market that gives you room to negotiate, the 2017 is the one to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on the best-maintained examples near the low end of the range and verify history carefully before you buy.
