Used 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport for Sale nearBoston, MA

How much does the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport cost?

Prices have softened 4.40% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 599 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 from owners, and the expert rating is 7.5/10. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

The 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport’s appeal is rooted in its sporty styling and more aggressive appearance, while the overall character is described as more about image than performance. That makes it a better fit if you want a small crossover that looks distinctive and feels more upscale inside than many rivals, rather than one that prioritizes driving excitement.

The market also shows 33.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The expert coverage points to a vehicle that can feel well sorted in everyday use, with a suspension that does a good job of controlling body motion and preserving ride quality. It also notes that the CVT is tuned to behave more like a traditional automatic in normal driving, which helps reduce annoyance in routine commuting.

The ownership picture is helped by the available connected and driver-assistance technology, and the cost-effectiveness discussion suggests you’re getting a lot of modern equipment for the money. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a neglected example may be more frustrating than rewarding, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport?

At 59.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of bodywork, alignment, and any signs of prior repair quality. Because this model’s appeal is tied to its styling and equipment, you’ll want to focus on whether the condition matches the asking price, especially on higher-trim examples with more technology.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S is the most stripped-down version, while the SV adds more equipment and the SL brings the most upscale appearance with machined-face 19-inch aluminum wheels and a more premium feel inside.
• Powertrain: It uses a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with a continuously variable transmission, and the expert notes that it feels adequate in town but short on urgency when you ask for hard acceleration.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert comes with the SV Premium Package, while automatic emergency braking and automatic high-beam LED headlights are restricted to the SL Premium Package. The Platinum Package on the SL adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and lane-departure prevention.
• Infotainment: The available NissanConnect system includes a 7-inch touchscreen, NissanConnect Mobile Apps, NissanConnect Services, and navigation, but it does not offer Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test drive notes 27 mpg in combined driving from the EPA estimate and 24.4 mpg on the test loop.

Which 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport trim should I buy?

The 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport is offered in 3 trim levels: S, SV, SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the Rogue Sport’s styling and basic crossover utility without paying for extra equipment. The cost-effectiveness discussion points out that you can keep the price down here, but you give up much of the modern tech and convenience that make higher trims more appealing.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds a more complete mix of technology and convenience, including the available NissanConnect system and the 360-degree surround-view camera when equipped with the Premium Package. It also unlocks blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert through that package.
• SL: This is the trim to choose if you want the most upscale look and the most available safety tech. It gets the larger 19-inch wheels and can be equipped with automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam LED headlights, and the Platinum Package safety suite.

The safety-package note is important: automatic emergency braking and automatic high-beam LED headlights are limited to the SL Premium Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop but should still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 599 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.40% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,048, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport's resale value?

The current average of $12,101 sits slightly below last year's $12,658.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price and keep the vehicle in clean condition, you’ll be better positioned to preserve value than someone who pays near the top of the range.

The model’s appeal is still supported by its styling and equipment, which can help keep demand steady among shoppers who want a small crossover with a more distinctive look. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport safe?

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The available safety content highlights a blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert on the SV Premium Package, while automatic emergency braking and automatic high-beam LED headlights are reserved for the SL Premium Package. If you want the fullest safety suite, the SL with the Platinum Package adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, and lane-departure prevention.

One important caveat is that crash-test ratings were not available in the reviewed material, so you should lean more heavily on equipment level and inspection quality when evaluating a used example.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert summary says the Rogue Sport’s name is more about styling than performance, which is the key thing to understand about this year.

The bottom line: If you want the Rogue Sport’s styling and a lower entry price, the 2017 is a reasonable buy, especially if you find a clean, well-priced example. If you’re shopping strictly on value, a later or different year may be worth comparing, but for price-sensitive buyers, this year’s softened market and decent inventory make it a practical place to start.
