How much does the 2017 Nissan Altima cost?

There are 1,752 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Nissan Altima earns a 4.9/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, comfort, and fuel efficiency, and they also highlight its smooth handling and spacious interior. That lines up well if you want a roomy, efficient midsize sedan that focuses on quiet, comfortable daily driving rather than excitement. With 26.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and it also describes the car as comfortable and fuel-efficient, which are traits that often matter in long-term ownership. The same reviews also suggest the Altima is a car many owners feel they can count on for everyday use. For used buyers, that means the bigger risk is less about the overall ownership experience and more about finding a well-kept example with a clean history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Altima?

At 46.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any listing that looks especially appealing on price. Focus on condition details that can reveal how the car was maintained, especially signs of prior body damage, uneven wear, or deferred upkeep. Because so many listings have some accident history, the cleanest, best-documented examples deserve the most attention.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Altima?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,752 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 46.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $9,667, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $9,667 sits slightly below last year's $10,537.

That price movement suggests the Altima has softened in the used market, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For future resale, that also means you should expect value retention to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and documentation. A clean, well-maintained example is more likely to hold buyer interest than one with accident history or visible wear.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 26.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 46.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $9,260, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $9,667 average.
• It offers a refreshed design with strong value and a comfortable cabin.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2017 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2016 is the better value play, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
