How much does the 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class cost?

Prices have softened 3.29% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 285 listings available, which gives you a modest pool to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class a good car?

Generally — the 4/5 user rating suggests you can expect a strong ownership experience if you want a vehicle with iconic design, serious trail capability, and a strong sense of occasion. The overview also makes clear that this model is aimed at buyers who value military-rooted toughness and luxury presence more than everyday practicality. That combination gives you a very specific kind of appeal, especially if you want something that stands out on the road. With 34.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview points to a long-running formula that had already proven durable and desirable, which is encouraging if you plan to keep the vehicle for years. At the same time, you should expect ownership to be expensive, so long-term risk for used buyers is less about basic appeal and more about maintenance and running costs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to body condition, signs of off-road use, and evidence of expensive maintenance. Because this model is both rare and costly to own, condition matters more than usual.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class?

This looks like a moderate market where selective buyers can still find value if they shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 285 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.29% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $79,667, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class's resale value?

The current average of $82,349 sits slightly below last year's $85,152.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited unless the market tightens again. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter a lot, especially for a vehicle with a premium image and a narrow buyer pool. Strong maintenance records can help protect value when it is time to move on.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz G-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.29% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the classic G-Class experience and you find a clean, well-documented example at a competitive price, the 2017 is a strong target year. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained example rather than the newest badge alone.
