Is the 2017 INFINITI QX80 a good car?

Generally — the 4.43/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. Owners repeatedly praise its luxury, comfort, and space, and many describe it as a dream car with a feature-rich cabin that works especially well for families. The QX80’s use-case is clear: you’re looking at a full-size luxury SUV that prioritizes comfort, equipment, and room over efficiency. With 34.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you also have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 INFINITI QX80 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.43/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to reliability and service as part of the ownership experience, alongside the model’s reputation for being well built. That combination suggests you’re more likely to be evaluating individual vehicle condition and maintenance history than worrying about a broad reliability red flag. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a poorly maintained example, so service records matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 INFINITI QX80?

At 61.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a large luxury SUV where wear, repairs, and maintenance can vary widely from one example to the next. Focus on overall condition, service history, and signs of neglect rather than just mileage or trim level.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 INFINITI QX80?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Inventory: There are 504 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.74% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,091, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 INFINITI QX80's resale value?

The current average of $16,091 sits slightly below last year's $18,028.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that resale value will likely depend heavily on condition, maintenance, and how well the vehicle presents against other full-size luxury SUVs. Well-kept examples should hold up better than neglected ones because shoppers in this segment tend to compare features, comfort, and overall care closely.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.43/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 INFINITI QX80 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.43/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a full-size luxury SUV with strong comfort, space, and feature content, the 2017 is a sensible target year to shop. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it with nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the lowest sticker alone.
