CarGurus Analysis: 2017 INFINITI Q60
overall

Summary
With 188 currently listed for sale and an average price of $18,918.00, 24.5% of 2017 INFINITI Q60s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2017 INFINITI Q60 4.75 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 6.67 / 10.
44.7% of 2017 Q60 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2017 INFINITI Q60 stands out as a fully redesigned luxury sport coupe that leans heavily on technology, value, and style. Infiniti gave it new engines, a retuned transmission, and the second generation of Direct Adaptive Steering, while also adding a GT-R-related twin-turbo V6. The result is a car that aims to bring more theatre to the segment without abandoning the performance credentials buyers expect.
What makes the 2017 Q60 especially appealing is the mix of striking styling, impressive handling, and a long list of tech features. It is also notable for its fully drive-by-wire setup, which is part of the car’s high-tech character. At the same time, the Q60 is not built around driver involvement in the traditional sense, since it does not offer either a dual-clutch automatic or a manual transmission. That makes it a strong choice for shoppers who want a distinctive, well-equipped coupe, even if pure engagement is not its main calling card.

I’ve owned my Q60RS for about a year and a half as of writing this. It’s safe to say that, I really, REALLY like this car. It’s got a perfect mix of mid 2010’s technology combined with all the premier engineering from the Nissan 370z and the Nissan GT-R. The Q60RS in AWD feels light, easy to drive, easy to control, and is so family friendly that once you kick it into Sport and Sport+, you hardly remember that the twin-turbo V6 hiding under the hood is still an absolute monster to be tamed. The car does have its downsides - it’s VERY persistent about warnings and issues that otherwise wouldn’t matter, such as front camera sensors not being available or an occasional check engine light even if nothing is wrong under the hood. Maybe that’s just with my Q60. The car is also a little bit towards the bottom of its league compared to other options in its MSRP price range - namely the 981 Porsche Cayman, the S197-II and S550-I / S550-II Ford Mustang lineup, the Gen 6 Camaro SS, etc. For a $50K-$60K car, I would expect it to be pretty fast if not luxurious - and while the car is both fast and luxurious, it could definitely prove itself a little more in the top speed game. Back in the 2000’s, 400 Horsepower was enough to get you up to 160 - 180MPH range, and by the early 2010’s, that was fairly default (as seen with the 2008 - 2012 Dodge Charger SRT-8, 2007 - 2012 Porsche 911 lineup ((997.1 and 997.2, etc))). This car packs 400 Horsepower exact, but only tops out around 155 Miles an Hour - I’m fairly certain that even the 370Z Nismo marks around that top speed. Regardless of its issues, the car is still an amazing drive - and if you can find one for the right price, I’d definitely recommend going for it. It’s the perfect entry level performance car for the prices it comes around in now (I purchased mine for around $25K @ around 89K Miles - most Q60RS range between $27K - $40K depending on mileage and condition). So, if you’re looking for something thats on par with some of the more popular sports cars of the mid 2010’s, this is definitely a go to!

Is the 2017 INFINITI Q60 a good car?
Yes — the 4.75/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert score is 6.67/10.
The standout strength is Look and feel at 8/10.
The Q60 is positioned as a fully redesigned luxury sport coupe that leans on technology, value, and style, and it backs that up with striking styling, impressive handling, and a long list of tech features. It also brings a fully drive-by-wire setup and a GT-R-related twin-turbo V6, which gives it a distinctive personality in a segment where standing out matters.
22.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2017 INFINITI Q60 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Q60’s appeal comes from its redesigned hardware, new engines, and retuned transmission, and the expert evaluation describes the 3.0T as a smooth, grunty engine with less turbo lag than you’d expect. It also notes that the newer engine tech is part of the same lineage that informed Infiniti’s performance development, which supports the sense that the car was engineered with ambition.
The cost-effectiveness commentary also points to the lower trims as the stronger value play, especially if you want the Q60’s style and equipment without stretching into the pricier performance versions. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the most advanced systems can be the ones you end up living with every day, so condition and feature functionality matter a lot.
What should I look for when buying a used 2017 INFINITI Q60?
At 44.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, electronics, and any driver-assistance features that may have been repaired or disabled. Because the car’s appeal depends heavily on its tech and equipment, you’ll want to confirm that the systems work as intended and that the car feels consistent on a test drive.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base 2.0T brings LED head- and foglights, keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way power seats with leatherette, heated mirrors, 19-inch alloys, and a dual-touchscreen interface, while the Premium trim adds a standard sunroof and a stronger Bose stereo. The higher trims add more luxury and performance equipment, so the base car is the one most likely to feel lightest on features.
- Powertrain: You can shop a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine or a twin-turbo V6, and the 2.0T is described as smooth but not especially quick for the segment. The 3.0T is the better-balanced choice, with stronger torque and better overall performance character, while the top version adds even more power.
- Safety package: The Driver Assistance package adds parking sensors front and rear, a 360-degree camera view, blind-spot monitoring, auto wipers, and auto braking front and rear with forward-collision warning. The Technology Package adds adaptive cruise, blind-spot intervention, lane departure and intervention, and adaptive headlights with auto high beams.
- Infotainment: The car uses dual touchscreens, and the interface is described as functional but a little confusing because the screens differ in resolution and control logic. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not described as standard here.
- Fuel efficiency: The 2.0T is rated at 22 city mpg and 30 highway in rear-wheel-drive form, or 21/28 with all-wheel drive. The 3.0T returns 19/28 with rear-wheel drive and 19/27 with all-wheel drive, while the 400-hp version is rated at 20 mpg city/27 highway in rear-wheel-drive form and 19/26 with all-wheel drive.
Which 2017 INFINITI Q60 trim should I buy?
The 2017 INFINITI Q60 is offered in 5 trim levels: 2.0T, 2.0T Premium, 3.0T Premium, Red Sport 400, Silver Sport.
Here's the short version:
- 2.0T: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Q60 look plus the basic luxury and convenience equipment. It makes sense if you want the styling and a lower purchase price, but it is the least compelling choice if you care about performance or richer features.
- 2.0T Premium: This adds the sunroof and upgraded Bose audio, making it the better value over the base car if you want a more complete luxury feel without moving up to the V6. It is the trim that best balances price and everyday equipment.
- 3.0T Premium: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it brings the stronger twin-turbo V6 and unlocks more desirable options. If you want the Q60’s character to feel properly matched to its styling, this is the one to target.
- Red Sport 400: This is the top performance choice, with the most power, staggered forged wheels, sport seats, paddle shifters, and adaptive suspension. It suits you if you want the most aggressive version and are willing to pay for it.
- Silver Sport: This trim is described as arriving later in the year and being nearly identical to the Red Sport 400, but with skinnier tires and the 300-hp V6. It looks like a middle ground for shoppers who want the sportier hardware without the full Red Sport price.
The safety-package trims add meaningful equipment, so if you want the most confidence on the road, look for cars with the relevant driver-assistance and technology packages.

If you find a listing below $17,897.12, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 INFINITI Q60's resale value?
The current average of $19,000 sits slightly below last year's $20,238.
That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favorable if you’re planning to sell soon. If you own one, the softer pricing means you may need to be patient to get top dollar, especially if your car lacks the more desirable equipment or has visible wear.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2017 INFINITI Q60 safe?
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
The Q60 comes with a broad set of safety technology, including autonomous braking forward and in reverse, traction and stability control, and full-length curtain-side airbags along with the usual airbag suite. The Technology Package also adds upgraded seatbelts that lock you in upon buckling and tighten up pre-collision.
The named driver-assistance suite includes parking sensors, a 360-degree camera view, blind-spot monitoring, auto wipers, forward-collision warning, blind-spot intervention, lane departure and intervention, adaptive cruise, adaptive headlights, and auto high beams. Some of these systems are optional rather than standard, so you should verify the exact package content on any used example.
The expert evaluation also notes that the systems can be intrusive at times, so you should test them carefully and make sure they behave the way you want before you buy.
Should I buy a 2017 INFINITI Q60 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 22.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 44.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.11% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- This year stands out for its fully redesigned layout, new engines, retuned transmission, and the GT-R-related twin-turbo V6.
The bottom line: If you want the most distinctive mix of style, tech, and value in this coupe, the 2017 is the right place to start. If you’re shopping on a tighter budget, focus on the better-equipped lower or mid-level trims and use the softer pricing to your advantage.
