Why it stands out
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline distinguishes itself in the crowded pickup market with its unique unibody design, which combines the comfort of a car with the functionality of a truck. Unlike traditional body-on-frame pickups, the Ridgeline's construction allows for a smoother ride and more spacious interior, appealing to buyers looking for both utility and comfort. This model boasts a powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 280 horsepower and includes innovative features like a double-hinged tailgate that swings open for easier access to the bed. While it may fall short in towing capacity compared to competitors, with a maximum of 5,000 pounds for the AWD version, the Ridgeline excels in on-road performance and everyday utility with spacious storage solutions. Its high owner satisfaction rating of 4.88 underscores its strong performance and practicality, making it a solid choice for those who prioritize comfort and innovative features over maximum towing capabilities.

We were looking for a truck for light hauling. Not for off-road. And I didn’t want to truck that looked all tricked out and masculine. I wanted a smooth ride, and a functional truck. We ruled out other midsize trucks because they rode like a truck. And as a passenger, the ride was unsettling. I prefer a ride like butter. Then we found the Honda Ridgeline. Because it is built different than the other midsize trucks, basically a truck body or an SUV base, it rides as smooth as silk. It doesn’t look like I’m trying to be young, or masculine or tough. It’s a classy looking little truck. The electronics inside blow me away. All of the safety features, and the space inside the backseat. It was exactly what we were looking for. I just didn’t know it existed until I found the Ridgeline.
