Why it stands out
The 2017 Honda Ridgeline is unique in the pickup truck segment, featuring a unibody construction that enhances comfort and handling compared to traditional body-on-frame trucks. Its design prioritizes passenger comfort and everyday usability, which can be appealing for buyers looking for a vehicle that blends the functionality of a truck with the driving experience of a car. The Ridgeline boasts an array of practical features, such as an under-bed trunk for extra storage and a double-hinged tailgate that provides versatile access to the bed. With a V6 engine delivering 280 horsepower and a comfortable interior reminiscent of Honda's SUVs, it offers a compelling alternative for those not needing extreme towing or off-road capabilities. However, while it excels in on-road performance and comfort, potential buyers should consider its limitations in towing capacity compared to its midsize truck competitors.

We were looking for a truck for light hauling. Not for off-road. And I didn’t want to truck that looked all tricked out and masculine. I wanted a smooth ride, and a functional truck. We ruled out other midsize trucks because they rode like a truck. And as a passenger, the ride was unsettling. I prefer a ride like butter. Then we found the Honda Ridgeline. Because it is built different than the other midsize trucks, basically a truck body or an SUV base, it rides as smooth as silk. It doesn’t look like I’m trying to be young, or masculine or tough. It’s a classy looking little truck. The electronics inside blow me away. All of the safety features, and the space inside the backseat. It was exactly what we were looking for. I just didn’t know it existed until I found the Ridgeline.
