How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe cost?

Prices have softened 13.21% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,400 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe earns a 4.55/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners repeatedly praise its spaciousness, power, comfort, and smooth ride, and those strengths line up well with its role as a full-size SUV for family use, towing, and everyday driving. If you want three rows and a substantial-feeling SUV, this model year fits that use case well. With 32.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful number of opportunities to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.55/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also highlights a generally dependable ownership experience, with owners describing the Tahoe as comfortable and capable over time. At the same time, some drivers mention vibrations and mechanical issues in certain vehicles, including remote start and seat malfunctions. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable, but you should pay close attention to individual vehicle condition and maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe?

At 59.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage or repeated claims. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of vibration, electrical quirks, or seat and remote-start issues. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, because the best used Tahoe is the one with the cleanest history and the fewest unresolved problems.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,400 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.21% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 59.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,136, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

The current average of $20,136 sits slightly below last year's $23,200.

That price movement suggests the Tahoe has softened enough to help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. If you buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your exit value later. Demand should remain supported by the Tahoe’s broad appeal to shoppers who want a large, comfortable SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.55/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 59.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.21% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.55/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $22,396, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $20,136 average.
• It leans more toward style and V8 character than pure practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2017 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer-year alternative and care more about character than value, the 2018 is the secondary path to consider.
