How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe cost?

Prices have softened 13.33% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,338 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the Tahoe’s spaciousness, power, comfort, smooth ride, and available features. That lines up well with its role as a full-size SUV for families who want three rows, strong towing ability, and plenty of cargo space. With 31.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling SUV for many buyers, with repeated praise for comfort, power, and everyday usability. At the same time, some owners reported vibrations and mechanical problems in certain units, including remote start and seat malfunctions. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable if you focus on condition and maintenance history before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe?

At 58.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on the suspension, electronics, and interior functions that owners have flagged in some units. Because this is a large, capability-focused SUV, you should also pay close attention to overall wear, cargo-area condition, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,338 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,697, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe's resale value?

The current average of $19,697 sits slightly below last year's $22,728.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For future resale, the key is to choose a well-kept example, because condition and history will matter more when the market is already softer. If you maintain the vehicle carefully and avoid accident history, you should be in a better position to preserve value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $21,926, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $19,697 average.
• It leans more toward styling and V8 character than practical value.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the better primary choice if you want the strongest value and a lower entry price. If you’re price-sensitive, it makes sense to focus on the 2017 and shop carefully for a clean, well-priced example. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model-year feel, the 2018 is there, but it asks for a noticeably higher budget.
