How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and good value for the price, and they also call out comfort features like heated seats and overall dependability. That makes it a practical choice if you want a roomy compact SUV with everyday usability and a value-focused ownership experience. With 29.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also highlights dependability and a trouble-free feel for many drivers, which supports confidence in day-to-day use. The strongest reliability takeaway is that you should focus on maintenance history and condition, since long-term ownership risk is lower when the vehicle has been cared for consistently.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you visit in person. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair, then verify that the interior, electronics, and drivetrain all match the seller’s description. Because this model year sits early in the generation, a careful condition check matters even more than usual.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,283 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.53% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 60.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,128, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $10,167 sits slightly below last year's $10,877.

That price movement suggests the model has softened, which can limit short-term upside if you plan to sell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition so you have less depreciation to absorb later. A clean history and consistent maintenance can help you stand out in a market where shoppers still have plenty of choices.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 60.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.53% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $12,397, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $10,167 average.
• It moves the Equinox into a smaller, more compact role with a more polished, straightforward mission.

The bottom line: Choose the 2017 if you want the lower entry price and strong owner satisfaction, especially if you can verify a clean history and solid maintenance. Consider the 2018 if you’re willing to pay more for the newer redesign and a more compact, refined feel; price-sensitive buyers should stay focused on the 2017.
