How much does the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

Prices have softened 5.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 3,233 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and good value for the price, while comfort features like heated seats also stand out. For you, that makes this a sensible pick if you want a compact crossover with a roomy cabin and an easygoing daily-driving character. With 30.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful shopping opportunity.

Is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also highlights dependability, along with the kind of trouble-free everyday use many shoppers want from a used SUV. The positive comments around comfort and value suggest this model can be a dependable choice if you prioritize a practical, long-term commuter or family vehicle. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is making sure a specific example has been maintained well and has a clean mechanical history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you commit. A pre-purchase inspection should be a priority, especially if you are comparing multiple listings with similar prices. Focus on overall condition, maintenance consistency, and any signs that the vehicle has been repaired after prior damage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,233 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.62% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $10,128, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $10,230 sits slightly below last year's $10,839.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help future buyers but may limit short-term upside for sellers. If you own one and plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter more because the model is already trading below its prior-year average. A clean history and strong maintenance record should help you stand out in a market where shoppers have plenty of choices.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.62% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $12,358, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $10,230 average.
• It shifts to a smaller, more compact SUV footprint.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2017 is the stronger starting point because pricing is softer and owner satisfaction is high. If you are willing to spend more for the newer redesign and a more compact footprint, the 2018 is the better secondary path for shoppers who prioritize that newer-generation feel.
