Used 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV for Sale nearOakland, CA

How much does the 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV cost?

Prices have softened 11.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 537 listings available, which suggests a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV’s appeal is built around space, presence, and comfort. It offers three rows of seating, an extended wheelbase for more passenger and cargo room than the standard Escalade, and a premium cabin with upscale materials and luxury-focused features. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a large, upscale SUV with serious room and a distinctly premium character. 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV’s strengths include a powerful 6.2L V8, strong towing ability, and useful equipment such as magnetic ride control, a rear camera mirror, a hands-free power liftgate, and available driver-assistance features. Its drawbacks include poor fuel economy and an eight-speed automatic transmission that was troublesome enough to lead to a class action lawsuit against General Motors. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is less about the SUV’s size and comfort and more about making sure the drivetrain and maintenance history check out.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV?

At 57.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you get too far into the process. A pre-purchase inspection should be a priority, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with a spotty maintenance record. Focus on overall condition, drivetrain behavior, and signs that the vehicle has been cared for consistently, since that matters more when you’re shopping a luxury SUV with known transmission concerns.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 537 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.14% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,053, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV's resale value?

The current average of $22,053 sits slightly below last year's $24,817.

That price decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of further depreciation. The model’s premium image and strong demand from shoppers who want a large luxury SUV can still support resale interest over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a strong choice if you want the Escalade ESV’s space, luxury, and premium character at a lower average price than last year. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 stands out if you want a well-equipped full-size luxury SUV and can be selective about condition and history.
